If they do away with the extra $600/wk that would be enough incentive to return to work for most folks.

Or since it's all fake money anyway, keep the $600/wk in there but let people collect it even if they are working. Fuck it.

I have encountered some people who are rooting for the virus to stick around for awhile and a longer lockdown so they can get their extra money for not working...pretty sad.

Some people's true colors are showing and those colors are poopy colors.

I just got off the phone with a guy in Mansfield, Ohio who is trying to hire 7 guys to get to his normal level of 30 employees. I was calling him about teaming up on a job I have going on, but we eventually started talking about staffing because he doesn't know if he can help me out because he can't find workers.

Lumber mills haven't been able to staff up and it is causing a HUGE run on lumber pricing right now. Don't believe me? Go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and take a walk down the treated aisle. Pickings are likely pretty slim.

Pricing is going through the roof. In April you could buy 1/2" OSB at around $12 a sheet retail. Now you're looking at $20 to $25, depending on how closely the store is keeping an eye on the market.

The ramifications are already being felt, and if America doesn't get back to work and stop this fucking nonsense it's only going to get worse.

reading this right after going to my local Home Depot. They are fully stocked on lumber, but you are correct about price. It was $25 and change for a sheet of OSB. It was $5-10 more for sub flooring sheets (thicker).

That's crazy. Last time I looked it was about $21-$22 CDN for a sheet of 3/8" osb

Just checked online and it's $21 CDN right now.

I don't know what the lay of the land is down there right now, but up here the money is cheap to borrow and prices are through the roof. In the next couple years rates are going to have to go up. When that happens these folks aren't going to be able to afford to renew their mortgages.

By the way Hauler @Hauler the reason no one can get lumber here is because everyone "working from home" is building a deck and garden box.
