Yes. Salacious in that it's a sexy headline rather than an honest one.
Spare us the hyperbole. No one actually believes that. We all take calculated risks with our lives, and the lives of our children every day.

No. There's an implication in the phrasing that contracting covid makes having MIS-C likely. Which is incorrect.
Both are unlikely assuming you seek treatment.
Yes. When someone utters the phrase "One is too many." that is hyperbole.
You use the information to calculate risks. 100's of thousands (probably more) of American children have contracted covid. 600 have MIS-C. That's an extremely low risk.
It does when the precautions you take aren't justfied by the likelihood of the outcome you fear. California has almost 60 000 cases of children aged 0-17. Among those 60 000, there has been 3 deaths. At the end of the day people should be trying to avoid catching covid, full stop. The messaging doesn't need to go beyond that except some people (not you, the person who posted the article) like to traffic in fear mongering.

And it's your right to be concerned. You should however make your decisions on available data and scientific information not the latest longshot fear mongering article that pops up, but if you don't want to send your kids back to school, that's certainly your prerogative.
Because the likelihood of a child contracting MIS-C because they have covid is miniscule. If not treated promptly strep throat can also lead to serious cardiac issues, but no one sounds the alarm over it because it's extremely uncommon.
