Bought a Taurus G2C 9mm last week. Put about 100 rounds thru it today and like it a lot. Not the best 9mm on the market by any means but for $299 it should be fine for a starter conceal carry. Getting ammo is going to be the difficult part now.
A man of your community standing should not be rocking a taurus firearm sir. Let's sell that one, privately of course because it's none of the governments business and let's get you a smaller framed 1911 like you deserve.

By the way my wife even carries a 45.

I carry a full framed 1911, way too big in the summer. My wife carries a Sig C3 1911, very nice, much easier to manage size.

Granted they aren't true 1911's, but yes they are very nice.
That's exactly why I say that. They get shit on for their slide profile, being series 80, and external extractor. They're also by far the most reliable 1911's I've come across. I don't have personal experience with the C3's but I can definitely speak to the carry and full size.

I've got an early 80's Colt Series 70 Government. First hand gun I ever bought and I love it. Granted at this point it's mostly Wilson Combat parts.
Nice.
I found it at Cabelas used for 800 bucks and they were offering 10% off used firearms too. I’d be shocked if the previous owner put a box of shells through it. I used my 200 dollar gift card and I walked out with it for under 600. Well... I walked out with it a month later because I put it on layaway, like any poor white trash would.
It shot good groups but about 4 inches left. I knocked the back sight over with a brass punch and now it’s a tack driver.

So far my Ruger Talos has been just as reliable as my wife's sig.
