although I am one of the biggest fans of the books, having read every chapter at least 20 times, all 31 or 32 arya chapters over 50 times, I thought:
season 5 was solid despite a handful of ridiculous scenes and awesome book subplots/characters were dropped, specifically victarion greyjoy, lady Stoneheart, and jaimes extended Riverlands subplot.
season 6 was badass, having hardhome happen on-screen (just like the shows version of the battle at crasters keep and having sansa replace jeyne Poole as Ramsay's hooker
season 7 was awesome, specifically the Lake scene north of the wall (although dany flying there in time is 1000% impossible lol)
and season 8 was a masterpiece, specially the final scene of season 8 episode 2 which goes down as my favorite scene in the entire show:
