what about when they're driving?
but are you really making the "only guns are lethal" argument that the gun-banners make?
No, I'm simply saying I don't mind if some people don't own guns. Recent violent felons being part of that group. Particularly, repeat offenders.

then you should keep them locked up, because there's no way to keep guns out of their hands when they're out.

writing the magic words in the special book and having the man with the fancy pen write his name at the bottom won't change that.

It sounds like the guy is going to be disarmed now. Laws can be enforced when LEO knows a law is being broken. That isn't to say he won't get another one.

I can imagine.
I wrote that before I finished reading the rest of thread, that escalated quickly. I see both your points and from what I understand it is possible to get those felonies expunged from your record, but I can imagine it’s awfully expensive. I would imagine a better approach would be to deny gun ownership for certain types of violent or gun related charges.

I had to drive the water truck home in a snow storm and I drown shifted in the roundabout and whipped a gnarly fishtail. I laughed like a schoolboy. Went rabbit hunting after work but none of the little fuckers showed themselves.

there's no expungement for federal felonies, the subject of the book "Three Felonies A Day".
There's only a handful of states that allow expungement, and that's (IIRC) 7 years after the person has been released, paid all fines, and completed parole conditions.

And it's not just firearms, it's getting a job, getting a place to live...we put people in the system and we don't let them out. Ever.

Gotcha. What about voting rights? I know a couple guys that got their felonies expunged. It’s hard to get past something if it follows you around forever. We’ve hired a few guys right out of prison and they ended up not working out. They all eventually just stopped showing up. They were all good dudes but meth got the best of them and they ended up back in jail. Sucks.

A passion of mine is furniture construction. I‘m setting up an office downstairs for my wife and she bought this desk used. The joker she bought it from gave us a bag of screws, but in two places the screws provided were too long. So what I did was take a couple of the long screws cinch them up in a vice and take my metal grinder to them. I custom crafted two screws to my own exacting specifications. Table looks absolutely beautiful. I’m so fired up, I’ve got half a mind to bang my wife on this desk when she comes downstairs for the big reveal.

I assembled a bookcase and then, with the guidance of @Lars R. Biden , I made braces so the shelf would hold my 10 gallon aquarium. I purchased and cut the lumber, then attached them to the shelf. Then I decided to brace the shelf under the 5.5 gallon, as well. Which was I’ll advised but if anything happens, I’m suing so NBD. ??‍♀
I’m hella proud of myself because I mostly was on the right path for bracing the shelf!

The smaller one isn’t flooded because I don’t have a filter for it yet, but I’m not in a big rush since that just for snails to feed my puffer that’s going in the top tank.

Careful, I hired @Lars R. Biden to build a book shelf.

When I called him to tell him to get his ass over to fix it, he said that he “thought I was going to use it for ‘small’ books.” and hung up.
