Correct. When i say main, i mean the meter outside, not any supply lines or valves in the house. Just turn the faucets off and leave everything else.

Definitely wouldn’t leave it that way for long; but it would be a quick way to see if there’s a leak somewhere

Thanks man. So far no issues on our end, it’s a city wide supply issue at this time. Lots of the city without water or very little at this time.

We caught it immediately. There was a little water, but we got it all sopped up.

The plumber will be here at 8 AM tomorrow to fix it. We got lucky.

especially when the cold gets in to your house .it takes a long time to heat up from being sub zero in the house

everything has insulation value in walls
including air itself

can take a lot longer than you think to thaw a house/wall out

I wonder how deep the water lines are there? We shoot for 2 feet here and we don't get deep frozen ground very often.

You young pups under 90 from Canadia are on another level with this shit. Where I'm at the coldest it's gotten is low 30's*F which I guess is somewhere around 1*C and that's super cold for people here. I love the cold weather and hate the heat but digging out the snowblower and shoveling out the driveway just to live your life is above my pay grade lol...

I don’t know. On this fix today, it’s a small one and he can knock it out this morning. I don’t know that we’re going to be fully restored. Maybe.

It turns out that we do have a tiny bit of damage to the ceiling. Just one small spot.

I have found a leak, but was promptly informed my son likes to tug on that faucet hose.......
