I hate how easy the umps are manipulated, but framing pitches isn't really cheating.
yeah I guess it is just some unwritten code thing but a lot of catchers do it.
At the major league level, they all should be pretty decent at it. I was taught the technique when I was in high school. We practiced it all the time.
A good catcher is way more important to a pitcher's performance than most baseball fans realize.

The Yankees lit up the Tigers tonight for a 10-0 win with a grand slam and a HR from Judge and HRs from Hicks, Frazier, and Odor. Cole was pulled after six innings just because the lead was so big that they figured they'd give him some rest. He left the game with 12 Ks and no walks.
