have you watched the HBO show "industry"

i found it pretty entertaining. focuses on analyst class, primarily of sellside sales force. but one or two in rearch. maybe a couple in trading

i got a major kick out of a few of the VPs, EDs, and MDs

and the drama isnt just about the analysts, but also the dynamics among EDs wanting to become an MD, and shit like that.

you may enjoy it. if not, pretend someone else told you
"sharpest, fastest, most intelligent, well informed"

Those would be the "Quants"

None of them can operate without the other though

Quants need dealers and people to execute the model.
Dealers need Quants to make the model. Quants need dealers
for the feedback loop to test the model.

They all need Liquidity provided by "Market Makers".
Market Makers need the "Commercials" to properly make
the markets

Commercials need the market makers to add or withdraw liquidity
in the direction they are pushing for value

Predatory firms need commercials and market makers
for the inside info. Commercials need Predatory firms to
spoof market direction

Its a dirty game and each piece is connected to the other

As far as getting a seat on the floor that was very true years ago
Now the floor is almost entirely gone except a few cash markets in
London.

Its all electronic now. Most anyone can rent a server on the exchange
relatively inexpensively.

"HBO show "industry"

Hmm not familiar with it myself. There was one trading related documentary
I liked and thought was accurate. The rest tend to have no real understanding
of how shit actually works.

I'll have to give it a look see

"pretend someone else told you"

Not gonna pretend someone else told me if I dont like it.

I fully intend on blaming and guilt tripping you personally

I am very new to this so forgive my ignorance, but I have seen many currencies piggybacking off of ETH. Why would you invest in those? Why not just invest in ETH?

back down like a yoyo
Bitcoin looks like a head and shoulders graph on the candlesticks.
It'll either grab a floor and shoot way back up or punch through that floor and fall off the cliff.
With China cracking down I think further dropping over the next month is much more likely. But Bitcoin is benefiting from the loose dollar policies but you're going to continue for some time. For some time.

I offloaded 3.5 BTC earlier this year.
Purchased at $6k and sold at $50k.
Bitcoin dropped from 20k to less than 4k in 6 months during the last bull market. It was less than 6k on a regular basis for 2 more years.
We are going back to 50k right now. It wouldn't be out of turn to see a peak happen again at 60k plus and then drop all the way to 10k.
We already did a 60k-30k dance. I wonder how many newbies lost their asses.
