Why would you have to "put it out of kid's reach when someone comes over", though?what is unsafe about that firearm?
If it was safely and responsibly secured, wouldn't that be a moot point?

I didn't say that I did. How is that firearm unsafe? How? you are so adamant that it so surely is UNSAFE, and by extension there must be other UNSAFE firearms in my home. Explain yourself. Why would you have to "put it out of kid's reach when someone comes over", though?

Keeping a gun in a gun safe isn't cultural, it's common sense. If you own a gun here you have to keep em locked away and the fitting bullets locked away somewhere else in safe-like cabinets, even without children.
But well, cultural differences.
If memory serves the gun in question is not within reach of appropriate ammunition. Without ammunition a gun is just a hunk of metal. While @John Lee Pettimore is surely a bit abrasive in this discussion, I too cannot understand at all how someone can even begin to argue that a gun being out in the open just in the corner of a room is safe enough around children, or safe enough to not be stolen.

That's the rules while travelling in a truck. Or what I was told anyway. Unloaded gun in one area of the truck; bullets in another. While @John Lee Pettimore is surely a bit abrasive in this discussion, I too cannot understand at all how someone can even begin to argue that a gun being out in the open just in the corner of a room is safe enough around children, or safe enough to not be stolen.

You live in Florida, so we know both 1 and 2 are false statements.I've considered purchasing a gun many times, but two things end up stopping me every time:
1. I don't live in a shitty neighborhood.
2. I don't have a tiny penis.
If not for either of those two things, I'd probably own several guns tbh.
He also made a thread last year when he bought a gun.You live in Florida, so we know both 1 and 2 are false statements.
So was he making shit up about buying the gun...Or having a giant penis? He also made a thread last year when he bought a gun.
ammunition is only allowed in the house if it's in a firearm. If memory serves the gun in question is not within reach of appropriate ammunition. Without ammunition a gun is just a hunk of metal.
When covid happened, he freaked out about having to defend himself from the hoards (as all people in nice neighborhoods do) and decided to use is Trump bucks to buy a gun.So was he making shit up about buying the gun...Or having a giant penis?
So does that mean you don't keep ammunition in the house?ammunition is only allowed in the house if it's in a firearm.
Trump Bucks were so much more necessary than Biden Bennies. When covid happened, he freaked out about having to defend himself from the hoards (as all people in nice neighborhoods do) and decided to use is Trump bucks to buy a gun.
I have ammo for guns I don't even have.So does that mean you don't keep ammunition in the house?
correct. unless it's in a loaded firearm. Loaded firearms are not within kids' reach - not that they have any desire to reach those firearms. So does that mean you don't keep ammunition in the house?
I have ammo for guns I don't even have.
I keep it just in case.
Same.I have ammo for guns I don't even have.
I keep it just in case.
Not my style, but I respect it.correct. unless it's in a loaded firearm. Loaded firearms are not within kids' reach - not that they have any desire to reach those firearms.
They've been through the manual of arms for each of those guns, had all their questions answered, handled them.
they also know that I'll take them down and unload them if they want to ask about them or handle them.
Poisoning them seems like a brilliant idea. Because other animals don’t get to that poison and dead rabbits most definitely aren’t eaten by other animals. I agree with @Hauler . You people are monsters.Rabbits can fuck off. The government here is trying to kill all of them via shooting, poisoning, fumigation of their burrows, and introducing a virus to kill them. And rightly so.
Think that's bad? In Australia, the government sponsors the culling of about 3 million adult wild kangaroos every year.

Florida is envious of Australia's skill when it comes to trashing their eco-system.Poisoning them seems like a brilliant idea. Because other animals don’t get to that poison and dead rabbits most definitely aren’t eaten by other animals. I agree with @Hauler . You people are monsters.
When Trump gives out money it's like Ted DiBiase stuffing $100 bills into people's mouths. When Biden does it, it's like the nerd trying to buy friendship in the cafeteria.Trump Bucks were so much more necessary than Biden Bennies.
Even Florida is more humane than those savages way down there in the South Pacific.Florida is envious of Australia's skill when it comes to trashing their eco-system.
