For grade school children it's probably an easy calculus that they could all be in a room together and catch coronavirus and nearly all of them would be perfectly fine. Even at this point it appears that historically flu is still killing more children than this is.

But then what do you do about the teachers? I have classroom full of children and a 50-year-old teacher with blood pressure and sugar problems.

In my area a significant portion of children live with their grandparents due to poverty and drug use. If you create an outbreak amongst the children what's the second halo effects for these families?

I don't have great answers for these and I think they really are at the core of the highest risk for schools. There may be some different calculus when you get into the high schoolers but for a great majority of students this is very low risk. But there's not only students in the building and there can't be.

Also be on mask You've had a year now the schools could have retrofitted and I just think about increased ventilation and other strategies that are less politically contentious and also probably useful adjuncts to masking.
Do we have any licensed lawyers on this forum who could discuss the legal ramifications of mask mandates in public schools?

Younger brother went to CVS Pharmacy for his second Pfizer shot today. Said there were 10 people ahead of him in line with only one person administering the shots, so he left and is going back on his lunch break.

Three weeks ago when he got his first shot, he was the only one there. His county is 43% fully vaccinated. Broward, in comparison, is 54% fully vaccinated (but has 3x the population).

Anecdotal I know but hopefully similar scenes are being repeated across the state.

Here we go. DeSatan is fucked.
That devil should have forced them to not go on summer vacation. Not one of them got sick at school

“The union's president, Anna Fusco, said at least three of the four were unvaccinated, per NBC Miami. All four were on summer break when they caught the virus and died just as the school year was about to begin, she added.”

Assumed calling him Desatan meant he was at fault.
He's created a COVID cesspool, it's the fault of Floridians and Florida leadership. DeSantis is a pandering idiot, that should be obvious. That doesn't mean other politicians aren't also pandering idiots- I think if there's one thing we learned for sure in 2020 it's that politicians really have no skills beyond public speaking and salesmanship; they're mostly lawyers. They can't solve problems, manage people, balance budgets, coordinate emergency responses, debate, compromise, negotiate, or do anything else that is their responsibility.

DeSantis isn't managing the COVID crisis or leading Florida, he's trying to get re-elected, which is his and every politician's actual job. They're career interviewees.

I live in Portland, Oregon. Our "leadership" is equally ineffective and pandering, they just happen to be on the other side. Our worst county has 13K cases/100K and 122 deaths, Florida has 20K cases/100K and 238 deaths. In real numbers, though, our average case count right now is 1,300 state-wide. Florida's is 17,600 (if the numbers are accurate, they're not really reporting).

However, Oregon and Florida actually have a larger, longer-term seasonal issue in common now: regular, climatic events increasing in intensity. I don't know what they're doing in Florida, but here in Oregon they have no idea what to do.

More as in a higher percentage or simply more people?
Number.
More than half of Canadians live below that redline with a great majority of that hugged up against the Toronto metropolitan area.
There are more Americans north of those Canadians.

Just admit that you need our liberty to thaw out.

Wouldn't teachers dying from Rona before they're even being surrounded by germ infested parasitic children be a good reason to examine whether or not they should go back to school?
Do the numbers support it being more dangerous to be around kids or adults?

If lower transmission from kids I’d say school might be safer than their local grocery store or just about anywhere.

No one overinflated anything. The confusion was over a multiple-day batch of cases that Florida sent to the CDC.

In addition, no one is reporting that schools have opened in Broward County.

Stop posting nonsensical bullshit.
Stop posting CNN news reports?
You understand that if you check social media about 90% of people replying to cnn story think they got sick and died at school.

1. You didn't post a CNN news report. You posted some right wing retard replying to a CNN news report.

2. All the stories I've read have mentioned that the school year hasn't started yet. If people can't read, that's their problem.

Stop posting nonsense.
