I was lucky enough to be living in a Canadian city right by Detroit for his prime years and I watched a lot of his games. He was so explosive. It would look like he was running into a dead end, and then he would just do a little cut back, and everything would open up for him. He tried to break open every run. He was exciting to watch everytime he touched the ball because he would try to score a touchdown with ever run. Scrambling like a madman trying to make something happen. He seemed just as fast running laterally as he was running forwards. He just about always made the first tackle miss and every play seemed like he was close to breaking a couple tackles and going for a huge run. He was so dangerous. The defence was always just trying to contain him.
