That's kind of my point. Social workers above all else need to be compassionate. He spends all of his time here trying to cyber bully other posters and reveling in the misfortune of others.
My point was that social workers don't have to be compassionate outside work. They probably (desperately) need a break from compassion. Also my point, this 'misfortune of others' you speak of is what I said he probably doesn't recognize as much of a misfortune as others.
Everyone should be compassionate! Give him a little.

Compassion isn't really something you just turn on and off. I very much recognize this is a place for people to unwind, shoot the breeze and crack unseemly jokes. But there's a difference between gallows humor and hoping for bad things to happen to other people, or in some cases try to cause it.
