Lol not sure why you referred this one to me, but I know a pretty high (for the average person) quantity of trans people. They've always been around, mostly keeping to the shadows. There's mostly a very small increase we're seeing among middle and upper class people with higher relative media exposure or interest, but the majority have always been poorer and working class people who have mostly suffered or died just to be trans. What we're mostly seeing now is elite capture of the idea and the accompanying reaction. One of my closest friends on this earth is Trans and his life has been little besides uphill struggle, lack of access to healthcare and plenty of boring everyday disappointments and moments of happiness. Just another human.
