Who did Ronda beat to earn her relevance? The best woman in the world at one time was Gina Carano and Cyborg stopped her in the first round.

I do agree that Cyborg may be an easier match up for Ronda at 135. Her over aggressiveness has given her problems in the past and she's not as accurate or elusive a striker as Holm.

I feel bad for her losing a million dollar pay day but she's had long enough to get down in weight.
Ronda fights in the UFC. The best fighters are in the UFC not Invicta. The Tweets, Muxlows and Van Duins of MMA are not the cream of the crop. Cyborg beat Carano who has victories over who? and that was over 5 years ago. Let's say Ronda never happened. How many would be talking about 175 lb Cyborg happily fighting in Invicta or some other small organization? No one. It was only the potential fight between them that made her relevant and that potential fight only existed because both looked invincible. That's off the table now. They could still fight but it's not going to get anywhere close to the interest it would have gotten.

Cyborg missed her pay day and she has no one to blame but herself. I think once she stops laughing at Ronda losing she's going to realize the missed opportunity and regret it.

Cyborg KO's Ronda. She doesn't move like Holm but she doesn't have to, she hits like a dude and Ronda can't win a fire fight with her, and can't man handle her like she did with others.

There's a reason Ronda has been ducking and dodging that fight. She knew she couldn't beat Cyborg, and getting completely destroyed by Holly Holm only solidified that in her mind.

Cyborg not relevant, LOL.

lol...I am sure she realized it immediately, she has been in the fight game long enough to know that. What was she supposed to do, pout about it ?

That's not consistent. You are qualifying relevance by defeated opposition. I'm simply holding Ronda to the same standard.

Ronda was 135 champ, Cyborg was 145 champ. UFC created a 135 division - that's the only reason Ronda is more relevant. Well, she's not even champ now so she's even less relevant.

Ronda could go to Bellator and be a champ. Would that give her more relevance?

Was this the first time Ronda fought with the IV ban in place? She looked gassed in the fight. Maybe a move up might help her. I say no rematch and have Ronda vs Cybrog at 140 for UFC 200. That fight will sell. Good fight and she gets confidence back, assuming she wins.
Ronda doesn't use IVs anyway. And look at her, if anything, she could move down to 125 if need be and the division comes. Which I read somewhere these days.

Ronda vs Cyborg fight is irrelevant. The fight to make is Cyborg vs the Champ, but Cyborg needs to make 135.

That would be magic.

No. She is not the best in her weight class
Well damn maybe you're right. Cyborg is more relevant than Ronda.
I will be shocked if the UFC let Holm fight Cyborg at 145. I would expect them to demand 135, until Cyborg can do that, she is pretty irrelevant.

Exactly. Invicta doesn't even announce her opponents until a couple of weeks before a fight because the division is so shallow they have a hard time finding credible opponents. Cyborg is not relevant until she moves down to 135 lbs and fights the best, like Ronda did. Being a champion in a division with 8 fighters is not what makes a fighter relevant.

Cyborg no longer needs to chase rhonda. Rhonda was embarrassed last night so the fight does nothing for her now. She should keep her weight up and continue to fight in the weight class she is most comfortable in. She is the baddest woman on the planet by a mile.

Well it depends how you define relevance. By your definition of opposition, yes she is. By the definition of weight class ranking, yes she is. Cyborg is less well known, due to the UFC media machine, so if wide spread recognition is your criteria for relevance, then sure. But that then makes CM Punk the most relevant fighter

oh yea you're right Cyborg is suddenly going to be the classic, patient counter puncher. Like prime Silva. Just picking her spots. LMAO.
No she is going to on he one who clocks Ronda harder then Holm and knocks her out again clean.

My criteria is quality of opposition. In reference to Strikeforce/UFC asking Cyborg to move down to 135 lbs, I can find a quote by Cyborg herself agreeing with them because all the talent is at 135 lbs and she could stay busy. That was 4 years ago.

So Cyborg herself admits she fights in a weak division with NO relevant opponents. Isn't it harder to be a champion in a division with more higher skilled fighters than a division where the champion admits the division is weak as fuck and moving down is a good idea?

Meisha Tate is more relevant than Cyborg.

Are you sure you want to use Cyborg's opinion to support your point?

Everyone ran from cyborg and that is why 145 division is thin. At the same point in time, 135 isn't exactly a shark tank filled with killers either.

Ronda doesn't seem like she takes getting hit well. Cyborg will hit her harder than she's ever been hit. Won wins? I have no idea. Before last night, I would have picked Rousey. But seeing how easily Holm shook off the TD attempts, I'm now leaning towards Cyborg. Cyborg is big and strong, and if she was watching last night, shes in the gym today putting Holly's gameplan into action.

Would she be any bigger than Holm at 135? She'd likely be the same size with less elusive footwork and less accurate punches, maybe more power. And no Winklejohn/Jackson
