I’m not sue what’s dumber.. to tweet this or to repost it.
It was funny until the last sentence.
This is a really bizarre argument and one I had with a friend. He said that we are now saying COVID is no worse than the flu and need to live with it as an endemic virus, proving he was right in 2020 and we were wrong.
It's like building a dam to hold out floods, and when it does, great thinkers coming in to argue all the work was pointless cause the flood didn't hit the town. This is a really bizarre argument and one I had with a friend. He said that we are now saying COVID is no worse than the flu and need to love with it as an endemic virus, proving he was right in 2020 and we were wrong.
It's only true now because of a massive vaccine rollout ?♂
I think we can just leave the obvious nuts to PlantersAnti-vaxx 'expert' claims vaccines will turn people into ‘transhumanist cyborgs' controlled by 5G

Despite the fact that Tenpenny is an osteopathic doctor with no expertise on vaccines, she regularly appears on right-wing programs where she spreads wild conspiracy theories about COVID-19 vaccines.
Sounds just a teensy angry and unhinged.

wrong about what?Sounds just a teensy angry and unhinged.
I'm looking in vain at my post, trying to find the word 'wrong'.wrong about what?
just because something is a rational thing to say now doesn't mean it wasn't completely irrational in the past.
That's not the same argument. We've had vaccines for a year now. It's only now starting to become acceptable to suggest that maybe we live with COVID.This is a really bizarre argument and one I had with a friend. That's what happens when you're gaslit for 2 years and then people admit they were lying to you. Remember "Lab leak is racist"? I remember.Sounds just a teensy angry and unhinged.
We didn't have decent vaccine coverage a year ago and certainly not in 2020.That's not the same argument. We've had vaccines for a year now. It's only now starting to become acceptable to suggest that maybe we live with COVID.
Neither Bill Maher or Adam Corolla said anything about "2020" you inferred that based on a different discussion from your idiot friend. We had vaccine coverage on the people who actually needed protection by March here. I'd have to assume it was sooner in your non-third world country. We didn't have decent vaccine coverage a year ago and certainly not in 2020.
I was talking about my friend when referring to 2020. But even ignoring that, to suggest going back to normal in March 2021 is absurd for a number of reasons.Neither Bill Maher or Adam Corolla said anything about "2020" you inferred that based on a different discussion from your idiot friend. At the beginning of the post I pointed out to you that that tweet and your friends comment weren't the same argument.I was talking about my friend when referring to 2020. But even ignoring that, to suggest going back to normal in March 2021 is absurd for a number of reasons.
- People were still dying in relatively high numbers.
- The data wasn't yet available to determine whether SARS-COV-2 had become endemic (it hadn't).
- Vaccine rollout wasn't sufficient at that point. Only the very most vulnerable had been vaccinated.
I have trouble understanding exactly what gaslighting means. That's what happens when you're gaslit for 2 years and then people admit they were lying to you. Remember "Lab leak is racist"? I remember.
I have trouble understanding exactly what gaslighting means.
Someone was being fed misinformation in order to make them question their reality?
. Gaslighting is a form of manipulation that often occurs in abusive relationships. It is a covert type of emotional abuse where the bully or abuser misleads the target, creating a false narrative and making them question their judgments and reality.
Yes, which is why I was clarifying. At the beginning of the post I pointed out to you that that tweet and your friends comment weren't the same argument.
Maher is from the US. It's not really subjective. The rest of your post is extremely subjective depending on what information you're going to choose to look at and where you live.
