They just can't keep their shit together without one egomaniac to run the show.
Russians love dictators.
support for puting is not as strong as their media paints it. sure there is russian pride because sadly, some people from all countries defend their leaders choices regardless of their merit

men on the inside, even at many levels below putin, support him. because they profit from favorable contracts in their communities

but ive had dozens of russian friends over the years. even a fiance. and very few of them admired putin (sadly though, some did)

I'm not saying the Russian people are bad or inherently whatever.
They have had enough dictators at this point that it stands.

You don't think they do?
The Russian people are hopelessly stuck in an unpopular dictatorship but they aren't responsible for anything it does, or getting themselves out from under it?
they are no more responsible for putin's actions then any of us are for the civilians the US government has killed over the last few decades

We obviously need Trump in office to bow right down before Putin.

Stand up to him, I mean. He'd solve this in a minute with his bold, anti Russian aggression-- oh wait, he's still gushing about his dictator man crush.
Say what you will, but nothing happened when Trump was in there.

Crimea "fell" under Obama's watch.
And Putin obviously has zero respect for Biden. I feel bad for the people of Ukraine.

We all joke about Biden's cognitive issues. I hope he's up for this.

Putin would've done exactly this but with a weaker response from us, topped with praise.

NATO not having American support slowed their recruitment of Ukraine. Biden being back in charge flipped the switch back on. The DNC over the last 10 years has gone to great lengths to restart the cold war.

I'm only what you're thinking
The first thought that popped into my head was cutting the head off the snake. Take Putin out along with all his cronies. Or make him think that's the plan. But if you do kill him, I'm not sure what happens to fill that void.

Putin grabbing Crimea is oddly similar to Hitler grabbing Austria in 1938.

Putin invading Ukraine is oddly similar to Hitler invading Poland in 1939.

Had someone put a bullet in Hitler's brain in 1939, how many lives are ultimately spared?

If Putin wants territories of the old Soviet Union, he won't stop at Ukraine. And you can't reason with lunatics.

So why did he do it now and not in 2017?
Or 2018?
Or 2019?
Or 2020?

Biden comes off as weak. Putin isn't going to respect that.

Feel free to offer a counterpoint.

The entire situation is oddly similar to Germany's expansion prior to WW2. The reasonings. The initial enabling from neighboring countries. The blitz invasion.

Trump was an idiot and said all kinds of stupid shit. But he never came across as a pussy. If anything, he came across as a reactionary baby. His unpredictable nature likely kept Putin at bay.
