What charity would you donate to? Do you trust CNN? I know that's silly, but I don't want my donation to go somewhere shady.

Russia spent the last few years preparing many many sanctions. So we'll never sign an agreement that Ukraine will never be in NATO. We sign security guarantees and we kick cans to other administrations and things like that. But there's no way NATO or the EU publicly tell Ukraine they will never be in.
On the other hand, what does that really matter if you make security agreements that you will not put forward troops there or nuke missile shields or provide offensive missiles. NATO membership with that country simply becomes collective defense.
Or could we state that we will delay any consideration of entry to NATO for X years while promising to work towards a compromise during that period? Once again, we're really good at kicking the can.
How does this end in a way that Russia can save enough face to not load the nukes? Russia was ready for the sanctions. They've done this dance before with south Ossetia and Crimea. Temporary sanctions for permanent land grab. Is this time different? Were the sanctions strong enough to get their attention?
