Yup. Get it while we both need it and value is higher because demand is there.

Once we transition to be less dependent on fossil fuels, the shit is just going to stay in the ground.
what i recently learned (which was a huge misunderstanding on my part), is that storing wind and solar energy is not yet practical. so until that technology exists (fingers crossed), we will still need to use fossil fuels at times to keep the energy grid going

as someone who identifies as a woodland elf, i was pretty sad for an hour or two when i first heard that lol

hes saying drill more now to increase supply and lower the cost as we transition to a hybrid renewals / fossil fuel system
Wouldn’t that require continuing to pour money into infrastructure and maintenance on something being phased out.

Let’s not forget the massive amounts of money spent on subsidies and bail outs (at least here in Canada).

So then it will be worth more than it is now… opposite of what you said
Not as we transition to alternative power. It's a commodity that has a shrinking window of need.

Capitalize on the resource while it's needed.

im am not versed in the projected demand curves to speak to this kind of stuff

my limitted understanding is that:

- coal is the worst by a long shot. so phase that out as quickly as possible
- invest in green energy, not just for the sake of climate change, but also to lessen a countrys geopolitical risk
- hope that the free market finds a way to store green energy efficiently and affordably
- assure that fossil fuel companies are not privitizing the gains and socializing the costs
- edit: oh and also nuclear energy

"if you vote against critical race theory you must be a racist Nazi"

good speech.
Well to be fair - the law is brain dead, isn't it?

Do you support the Holocaust being taught to kids in a way that is non-judgemental of the morality of the Third Reich, as this proposed law would mandate? Of course you don't. Why is your issue with the guy pointing out how stupid the law is, and not with the stupid law?

??

that's not what the law mandates. The whole speech was an attack on a strawman.

but to your point, Yes, I would prefer to teach kids facts and give them the critical thinking skills to come to the conclusion that killing millions of people is reprehensible.

if kids have to be told explicitly that such actions are bad, we have much bigger problems in our education system.

EDIT - forgot to say that the proposed law is retarded.

Fair enough. But this guy never appears if not for the law, does he. The law is the stupid part of the equation, not this guy.

And yes, by all appearances your education system is a sad joke.

stupid on stupid is still stupid.

doing stupid things to stop stupid things doesn't make him smart.

EDIT - forgot to point out that CRT is the most stupid part of this equation.

And you can teach facts while still teaching critical thinking skills, of course. But yeah - the Holocaust was evil. So was Jim Crow, so is discrimination against gay people. Etc etc etc. This proposed law is stupid and reactionary, and....... stupid.

The holocaust should certainly be taught, but the 3rd Reich's morality has nothing to do with it. History is about facts. Not judgements.

The Green movement sounds good on paper but in reality it will usher in even more controls from our overlords, by design

Ditching fossil fuels quickly is a pipe dream and completely unrealistic

The transition will take time and there is a lot of $$$ to be made on oil before it will no longer be important to the powers that be...rest assured we and the planet will be fully taken advantage of for decades to come on both our fossil fuel consumption and the new green technologies.

TLDR "war is a racket"
