Btw that whole account is pushing an angle. Not just reporting.

Also not sure if they made their tweet before they started correcting others. Seems people arguing over who's doing what and then this person posted a tweet factually but others of course are saying other things so...

Of course. It is a Russian propaganda account and should be treated with high levels of suspicion.

High levels of suspicion that you and others in this thread do no apply to the Ukrainian propaganda accounts you post.

The initial walk looks awkward. Is video reversed?
I'm on the go but you can download the gif and put it in an online gif. Reverser and see if it looks more natural. Seems strange that he would pull his phone out at the end. Makes a lot more sense that you see somebody taking a picture or video and then carefully taking a bottle out of the area. But if you reverse it, it looks all funky on the walk. It's not reversed.

I don't disagree that the video could be faked at all. There is so much bullshit in our eyes, none of us can see straight.

But if nothing else, your reaction is a case study into cognitive dissonance. As soon as you were confronted with possible evidence that disrupts your worldview, you had to immediately allege that it is faked, even though your reasoning is fairly tenuous, using a diligent level of skepticism that you have not applied to potential Ukrainian propaganda.

I agree with the 'I am very skeptical of this video' take. I only suggest being more consistent in your skepticism and applying it to both 'sides'.
i hear ya. but the thing is, russia is led by a dictor. and russia invaded ukraine, so they have much more of a reason to paint a false narrative to justify their murders

No. I've watched enough backwards videos and made backwards GIFs for funnies on this website. I spend my time watching people put dogs into pipes instead of actually taking them out because it's funny. It looks reversed.

Speaking of kids possibly getting bombed, what do you make of this video, Doc? I am too ignorant to know if the allegation in the tweet is accurate, but this isn't normal military stuff is it?

Hey splinty Please analyze the accuracy of this particular video...

" I don't know but from fucking around on the internet it looks weird in motions. Just reverse it and figure out if it's reversed or not"

" See I tricked you! You're so biased you're not reversing other videos!"

Why are the way you are?

I actually don't give a shit. Nothing about these videos impacts my view of the rightness or wrongness of Russia invading, Ukraine.
I'm here for the convoy. 4K videos of war don't change my opinions of the two sides. Individuals in those wars do not change my opinion of the two sides. I'm under no illusion that war will lead to rape and beatings and lynchings and terrible shit happening by the combatants fighting for both sides.
Now that's out of the way. Quit wasting my time with gotcha videos because you asked about a specific video and I gave a specific answer far deeper than I spend on any other videos because again I wouldn't spend it on that video either. You asked for it so I gave it.

I could be wrong, and if I am he'll yell at me, but I think his overarching point was that people tend to look at a Russian propaganda video and look for issues, where they just accept any pro-Ikraine narratives thrown before them.

Oh, I was 70% trying to lure you into a trap, but 30% genuinely curious if something was going on that was easily explainable. That 30% was why asked you and not someone else.

But it was a trap to help you, Doc. I just want some of you to see the errors in your ways by only focusing on one half of the propaganda coin.

I hope Russia gets their shit pushed in. Their invasion is wrong and that's the reason I hope so.

I don't believe the Russians are evil monsters. I don't believe that Ukrainians are saints. The Russians are ill-equipped idiot conscripts being sent on a lose lose mission That is going to send a lot of them home in caskets for their families to mourn. I don't hope they die except where necessary. I hope the Ukrainians make the invasion unpalatable enough that Putin is forced to tucktail and claim a shallow victory and end this. Only in hopes of ripping the Band-Aid off do I hope for aggressive and significant bloodshed in the short term... But not for a penalty of any morality around the Russian individuals or bloodlust. Rather peace will only happen here when the war stalls and negotiations are forced. I don't think that happens soon. I think Russia takes over. The pro Ukrainian propaganda you were discussing would have you believe the Ukrainians are putting up a valiant effort and are about to beat the Russians out of the country. I think that's cheerleading that doesn't meet reality. I think the Russians take over. I think they have an insurgency. This gets drawn out for years like us in Iraq or Afghanistan. And then after 10 years of Ukrainian deaths and Russian kids getting sent to a war that can never be won, Russia will exit.

According to same propaganda accounts, Russian demands, knowing that Ukraine will refuse, are that a) Ukraine vows never to join NATO/EU, b) Ukraine recognizes Crimea as Russian, C) Ukraine recognizes Donetsk and Luhansk as independent (presumably the whole oblasts).

Now let's pretend for a moment that these demands are true, only one of those things is a situation that didn't already exist pre-war, which is that Ukraine would have to make some further territorial concessions in the East. But relatively minor in the grand scheme of things.

To me, if the world was serious about ending the bloodshed, which of course it isn't, they'd call Russia's bluff and convince Ukraine to take that deal.

Instead, such a comprise or one like it will not even be considered and we could see far more of Ukraine swallowed up and far more dead people getting to that point.

Doesn’t a big part of the collective resistance about denying these demands revolve around shutting down “rights by might”? From all I’ve read so far there’s been no serious negotiations whatsoever. Having meetings to just reconfirm your demands isn’t any sort of effort to compromise. Officially giving up Crimea and then portions of the east would just tell Putin that his methods are effective and I’d expect him to continue to munch his way I’m which ever direction he feels necessary.

Both of the areas in question had referendums and voted in favor of joining Russia. One was absorbed the other was refused. Oil changed Russia's desire to have it
