Don't think I have, but I can explain regardless.
Until the last couple years, the problem we had with Hitler wasn't that he started a war. It was that he started a war to exterminate entire races of people and tried really, really hard with concentration camps that make this current war footage we're all appalled at look like an easy Sunday drive. It's really important that we don't forget what made Hitler the monster he's remembered as.
Hitler doesn't have his reputation because he started a war, he has it because he masterminded the Holocaust. Pretending that Putin is anything close to Hitler is to ignore what made Hitler so bad.yeh @@BeardOfKnowledge

I thought it was due more to a couple of things:
1) The way the invasions of Ukraine territory (Crimea, then the other two "separatist" regions) sounded very like Hitler's occupation of the Sudatenland in 1938.
2) Putin is thought to be yearning for the old USSR, which was effectively the Russian empire. Hitler wanted the Third Reich (empire).
