So...However, the rules also set up a process to waive those requirements in case there are not enough domestic producers or the material costs too much
So you think they should halt all future projects if they run short on available American steel?I like it!
Biden requires infrastructure projects to use steel and iron made in the U.S.
New guidance requires that the material purchased — whether it's for a bridge, a highway, a water pipe or broadband internet — be produced in the U.S.www.cbsnews.com
Oh wait...
So...
Source it from wherever you want?
Typical. Headline policy. Zero teeth.
And then of course there is this..However, the rules also set up a process to waive those requirements in case there are not enough domestic producers or the material costs too much, with the goal of issuing fewer waivers over time as U.S. manufacturing capacity increases.
starting on May 14 "none of the funds" allocated to federal agencies for projects may be spent "unless all of the iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in the project are produced in the United States."
If it's not available, it's not available - but having a "costs too much" clause in there means you might as well not mention "source American" at all.So you think they should halt all future projects if they run short on available American steel?
Maybe if this wasn’t also written into the bill.If it's not available, it's not available - but having a "costs too much" clause in there means you might as well not mention "source American" at all.

...or can be found elsewhere for less money.Maybe if this wasn’t also written into the bill.
So you don’t think this will have any impact on American steel companies and manufacturing in America?...or can be found elsewhere for less money.
Not if you give developers a chance to make more money by sourcing cheaper (read as foreign) goods. So you don’t think this will have any impact on American steel companies and manufacturing in America?
Developers will just make more money. When they bid the job, they'll use American sourced material for the price. Whoever is awarded the job will then go to source it. This bill says that it must be bought American unless it's 25% more expensive to do so. So they go to their foreign partners and tell them where they need to be.So you don’t think this will have any impact on American steel companies and manufacturing in America?
Seems this same logic could be used to explain the exception. Allow greedy American companies to take advantage during times of shortages and it’s the tax payer who loses out to inflated prices.Developers will just make more money. So the taxpayers PAY for American-sourced materials, but that isn't what necessarily is used. The difference goes into the developer's pockets.
If you give greedy people a loophole, they'll exploit it.
The prices will already be inflated because they are quoting it "Made In America". The clause allows it to be sourced overseas. So it's higher pricing with no real benefit.Seems this same logic could be used to explain the exception. retarded. they didnt even say what was objectionableFlorida bans selection of math text books for critical race theory reasons
On Friday, Florida Commissioner of Education Richard Corcoran announced that the state had rejected the math textbooks under the state's Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) standards.
"The approved list followed a thorough review of submissions at the Department, which found 41 percent of the submitted textbooks were impermissible with either Florida's new standards or contained prohibited topics – the most in Florida's history. Reasons for rejecting textbooks included references to Critical Race Theory (CRT), inclusions of Common Core, and the unsolicited addition of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in mathematics," the department announced.
they were all full of equal signsretarded. they didnt even say whay was objectionable
CRT is taught at graduate level, not even undergrad, let alone elementary school lol
they said tenants of CRT tho. i think that might be their way of saying "tenets of CRT"
so odds are, the math books had scary words like "black"
desantis is scum
Definitely not an anti-democracy personality cult, though.
I commend you for trying with the moron, but I gave up after I point-blank asked him what he would do to stop the spread of covid without restrictions.@MMAHAWK - every time you put a drunk rating on a comment like that, all you're doing is saying "I don't want him to be right about this. I don't like the fact that Trumpism is a personality cult, but I have absolutely zero to challenge that statement with and I'm too much of a pussy to even try."
Don't be a little bitch dancing on the sidelines shaking your pom-poms and flashing your panties at anyone who defends Trump, without ever actually manning up and participating in the game yourself. Either throw your two cents in and be a part of the discussion, or fuck off. ?
