2024 GOP ticket will continue the unholy truce between the establishment Republicans and the Trump republicans. Assuming it's a populist in the #1 slot like a Trump or DeSantis, I wonder who the establishment will select as a running mate. Will they go as far center as a Kinzinger or Romney? Will they get a Jim Justice or a Mike DeWine to try to carry the rust belt?
There is no place in the modern Republican Party for Mitt Romney or anyone like him.

It depends how you feel about establishment politician's I suppose. The dude's rebranded himself like 8 times. Poor fucking guy runs against Obama in '08 and then Trump in '16. Talk about not being able to catch a break.
I think he is fully sold out
I can see how some might sympathize with him, but I'm not that guy

Did he speak out against mandates or lockdowns?

Can't figure out how to post, but it is still baffling to think the "left" voted for this guy
I bet most of them don't even know of any of his political history other than obamas VP

That's why I wonder about he or Kinzinger because if the party forced someone like that on a populist ticket, it would be so they could pretend to appeal to the imaginary center and in the process, reset course. If they go with a Dewine or Justice, they're likely to have a pretty uninspiring ticket especially if it's alongside another governor in a Desantis or Abbot. If it's Trump, it probably won't matter.

I just think he just goes where he thinks he can gather traction. It looks like there will be a consolidating of Bush/Cheney-era Republicans trying to regain control of the party.
If he just goes where he thinks he can gather traction, then there would be no need for the former nominee to "try to regain control of the party" now, would there.

Because his wing of the party - which isn't "the Bush-Cheney" wing but rather the "America should continue to be a democratic nation" wing, was in control of the party until the insane retards and authoritarian personality cultists completely took over. Romney had every opportunity to join the Big Lie, and didn't. He is now irrelevant in the GOP because of that. What you are looking for, is cunts like Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell.

She should try being hot line AOC. Way better platform.
AOC doesnt take corporate PAC money, so she would definitely vote way i want her to 99% of the time. but she abandoned Nina Turner. thats fucked up

and the other justice democrats were worse. fuck em all. they are part of the swamp now

yeah, i tried to go online last night and change my voters registration since i no longer a democrat (unfortunately, i couldnt do it online)

america is done imo. the corporations have control and it cannot be taken back
It can be, but it'll take awhile. Being part of the struggle means being patient. As "in our lifetime" recedes, people often give up and do nothing or become reactionaries, but if people had done the same a century ago, we wouldn't be living comfortably off of their sacrifices.
