I got four more years @ 1.64%Canadian Mortgage Rates May Climb Up To 7% By Next Year: Desjardins - Better Dwelling
Canadian mortgage borrowers are going to be paying much higher rates soon. Desjardins’ latest consumer interest rate forecast shows the 5-year fixed rate mortgage climbing — a lot. Over the next few quarters, it can hit up to 7% — a rate that would have seemed impossible back in 2019. Elevated...betterdwelling.com
Double or triple pay if you can. Get that principal down before they stick it to ya!I got four more years @ 1.64%
I worked for both sides and I didn’t change my pace of work at all. Things didn’t move along as quickly as the non union sites but that wasn’t because the IBEW was telling its members to work slower they just did a better job at blocking lots of the short cuts non union companies deem normal.Ever worked on a union job? It's a joke.
They work really hard to hardly work.
Although I did like getting prevailing wage when a job went with us instead of fucking with the union.
Nah. I’m gonna max out an equity loan and buy another place. YOLO.Double or triple pay if you can. Get that principal down before they stick it to ya!
don’t listen to him @Dildo Swaggins its a trick!Double or triple pay if you can. Get that principal down before they stick it to ya!
yessssssNah. I’m gonna max out an equity loan and buy another place. YOLO.
I (non union worker) once used a circular saw that was part of a union crew. Their entire crew walked off the job because I wasn't trained on that piece of equipment.I worked for both sides and I didn’t change my pace of work at all. Anecdotal but whatever…
I’ve been with ma and pa companies where I’d need to be at heights or do live work and when I start asking for safety measures like fall protection or a real lock out procedure you’re now “that guy” and are pushed to the side. Exact scenario with the union I’d get fired for not taking steps to put my personal well being first. $32/hr is considered pretty good right now for a typical non union electrical jman, IBEW is paying around $42 with a sold benefits package and driving time after 45 kms without question. I’m still an IBEW member paying non working dues but I’m working for a great company that’s non union. Main reason is that Kelowna isn’t big enough to keep the union guys busy all year round. Union or not we all have the same ticket from the same schools and work off the same rules and regs. IBEW has many flaws but if you’re in a major city and they can keep you busy it’s an easy choice if you want a bigger pay cheque, better benefits and less risk of injury or property damage.
no way i would allow that as a PM. site had weak leadershipI (non union worker) once used a circular saw that was part of a union crew. Their entire crew walked off the job because I wasn't trained on that piece of equipment.
I was like 19 at the time. Shut down a million dollar project for cutting 6" off a 2x4. LMAO. Fucking babies.
I'm gad your experience is better than what I've seen.
Ya you’re like 80 and those stories are rare for us spring chickens. My dad had similar stories about showing up to a strip mall thing and most of it was being done by union guy and they’d all bitch hard enough until the guy who hired my dad was pressured to let the union eat up the whole lot. That was in the 70s/80s though. My brother is a PM for a big IBEW firm and he loves his job but hate the union because of the obstacles he has to jump through. From his perspective rice I get it and he gets mine as well. Great to work for, problematic to work with.I (non union worker) once used a circular saw that was part of a union crew. They were all back the next day, but all workers (non-union and union) had to have a joint meeting about not using each other's tools. It was the most grade school shit I've ever been apart of outside of - you know - grade school.no way i would allow that as a PM. site had weak leadership
