If I were 14 to 18, I'd refuse to go to school and opt for home schooling.

I think by now we can say any student who makes that decision is being wise, not being a sissy.

a student is twice as likely to be struck by lightning as they are to be present during a mass shooting event.

Yes and no. Bad students are going to get the guns regardless. So the solution should be to arm every student /s

Half is access to guns.

Just as obviously, to me at least, it's that there's something fundamentally wrong psychologically with these people. Not much different than serial killers, and it's certainly being studied.

They're male. What other characteristics do they share?
White, nearly all?
Middle class?

Psych meds are a big factor IMO.

Didn't hear yet about the buffalo shooter's medications or lack thereof...but the majority of shooters were on psych meds.
Those things fuck your head in a bad way from what I have seen.

Not sure about the nearly all white thing, the coverage is different for these events depending upon shooters race.

Only for the over fives. And so long as they have had training. AND. And this is the kicker. They can only have single shooters. Can't risk them taking out friendlies as they shoot the bad guys.

From what I've seen working in hospitals, some kids definitely need chemical re-kajiggering.
Some psych meds allow people to live relatively normal lives, for the right patients.

For some it might be just enough to keep them from killing themselves.

For some, it might keep them from such a mental state such that they commit mass murder.

I agree

Not all bad, I have seen them help aperson get control of their life again.

Have also seen a couple people apparently permanently rewire their brain for the worse.

Tricky though, I don't think they should be as widely prescribed...Sometimes the fix is a lifestyle change instead of a drug.
