I live out in the sticks. A 911 call would probably take a long time to get to my place - if they could find it right away.

If someone came to my property with bad intentions it would be on me and me alone to take care of shit. I certainly don't anticipate that happening, but just a month ago someone nearby - a known loonie - was busted for emptying his handgun into a political sign he didn't agree with. I'd rather be prepared.
Having a hunting rifle with 5 shots wouldn't be enough to protect? Why is there a need for high capacity AR15s and handguns beyond a revolver. With each of them limited to one per person say, and no peer to peer sales allowed.

If the other guy had an AR15 I'd want something similar.

Realistically, 2-3/4" slugs from my Auto5 would likely suffice. I also have a 30/30 that wouldn't tickle.

I'm with you on peer-to-peer sales. We need a license to own and operate a car. We should need one for guns.

I know fuck all about guns, but it sounds like people who shouldn't have them are getting them way too easily.
So either make guns less deadly, and less quantity available, or control the crap out of them. Neither solution appears to be acceptable to gun nuts.

Imagine having to send your kids to school where there is only able to be one entrance, requires armed security guards, demands teacher be armed and conducts live shooter drills.

In my town, the schools have double entry - you ring the bell at an intercom w security cam to be let in the first door by person at desk behind bulletproof glass. You have to be there for a meeting vouched by staff + give ID to get a badge printed and get buzzed in second door.

Otherwise, and in most cases, you have to wait in that entry way and they bring your kid to you. If you brought something to drop off they come around to get it or you can slip it under the glass in the tray if small enough (like my kid's library book when he left it home by accident).

Would be curious if these schools have these measures as the double entry is supposedly a top deterrent.

That sounds like a great system.

So, let's hear some of them. And comment on what would come along with them.

??
I work at schools everyday
The only building I can’t just walk into is the district office.

There is more security at the entrance of a Best Buy or Costco than any school in my district.

Ignoring the overall absurdity of the statement. If an AR15 were limited to 5 rounds, you're good with it?
