to inspect the factories properly to stop this from happening againThe "baby formula" bill is just funding for the FDA.
or did you think it was going to produce extra baby food factories?

I meant the religion dictating policy thing, the American Civil War was just a misunderstanding that got out of handI'm going to have to firmly disagree that the civil war wasn't the rampiest its ever been.
They could be using money to physically get more formula instead they're using it to fund something that wouldn't have prevented the shutdown.to inspect the factories properly to stop this from happening again

Oh, you.I meant the religion dictating policy thing, the American Civil War was just a misunderstanding that got out of hand
from where? They could be using money to physically get more formula instead they're using it to fund something that wouldn't have prevented the shutdown.
Other countries that don't have shutdowns.from where?
Given that the 2 deaths weren't caused by the formula and that the shutdown was voluntary. No.you don’t think factory and product inspections and additional rule enforcement could have averted this?
baby formula is fairly scarceOther countries that don't have shutdowns.

You can be as mean as you, bruv. The news is what it is. They didn't find the bacteria that the 2 babies died of in the factories.baby formula is fairly scarce
i don’t want to be mean in the morning so i’m gonna have to leave the second point unaddressed
it happened this time because the manufacturer decided that fines were more cost effective than fixes. This entire situation is an abject failure of bureaucracy and the progressive solution is "more bureaucrats". GTFO with that nonsense.to inspect the factories properly to stop this from happening again

sweet christ, brother.from where?

hmm
that's an entirely reasonable and pertinent public policy statement for a senator to make.

In an interview with Politico, the following words came out of Cassidy’s mouth: “About a third of our population is African American; African Americans have a higher incidence of maternal mortality. So, if you correct our population for race, we’re not as much of an outlier as it’d otherwise appear. Now, I say that not to minimize the issue but to focus the issue as to where it would be. For whatever reason, people of color have a higher incidence of maternal mortality.”
For whatever reason.

There's a really, really great aspect to the following article, but I'm not going to spoil it for you.sweet christ, brother.
your naivety surrounding FDA inspections is mind-boggling.
"race is social and biological"“Race is a social construct, it is not a biological condition,” said Veronica Gillispie-Bell, medical director of Louisiana’s Perinatal Quality Collaborative and Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review and an obstetrician at Ochsner Health. “To say that ‘because we have a lot of Black people in Louisiana, that’s why our outcomes are bad’ is out of context.”![]()
