Who would’ve thought you would’ve ever heard Texas Republicans calling for more mental health services?

Strange considering they have cut funding to them over the last few years.

If one was looking for an example of a highly secured elementary school (1 entry, metal detectors, armed guards, armed teachers) is there an example of another country utilizing this all successfully?

Aussies tend to swear. And I never said that your kid isn't perfectly normal and well-adjusted, in fact I stated flat out more than once that he most likely is. In the States it is very normal to want to invest most of your savings into buying yourself a home armoury as soon as you can. That's how bizarre the gun culture is, guns are so prominent and that mindset is so normalised.

You are willing to say that you think that someone dropping some f-bombs in casual conversation is more of a red flag for potential violence than a teenager dropping several hundred dollars (or more) on an AR-15 assault weapon as soon as he is able to buy one....... don't you see what a bizarre culture that is? Really?

??
IF only it was just throwing some f bombs.....

Casual conversation, you say? You get so vicious sometimes that I’m worried you will have an aneurysm.

One person yelling, calling people ass moron clowns vs a man standing quietly with his AR at home in his safe.
Which seems more dangerous ?

I still like you though and really do appreciate hearing your views on American life. It is quite the eye opener sometimes.

Lol I toyed with a few ideas for those words. I decided to go with complimenting ny/nj as opposed to condemining others

Granted, it gets to the same thing.

And, in all honesty, I believe it to be true. More importantly, foreigners would likely agree that it's true for many issues such as socialized healthcare and guns

Foreigners think America is nuts. And I agree, unfortunately

Your ability to be nice, thoughtful, condescending and downright rude all in one post is amazing.

I think you are grossly over exaggerating.

I’m sure there are people like that but I don’t personally know any.

Most people, even some of our closest family members, my kids don’t know what guns we have or how many. Tbh, I don’t know what all my husband has in his safe. He definitely has bought some on the down low because I bitch about spending money on yet another one.

We have a large group of friends, some of which won’t come around if a certain other friend is present because he carries a gun everywhere he goes. They aren’t comfortable with that. Ironically he is from Philadelphia. Lol

What our friends, my family, even my children don’t know is that my husband doesn’t carry one on his person but almost always has a handgun nearby. He is very discreet about it. I have only seen his handgun , ummmm maybe twice in the past 5 years.

And outside of cops that is the only gun I have seen with my own two eyes in the last 5 years.

(Not counting air rifles, lol)
