I can have someone hitting a 10" plate target at handgun range (25 yds) using basic POA shooting in a few minutes.

no one is getting a consistent 600yd off-hand hits with an AR on a 10" in a few minutes.
In a few minutes? Maybe a couple times, but not consistently. You could with an AR though which is what we're talking about. We aren't comparing proficiency with a pistol at moderate ranges to long range rifle shooting.

if I set up an AR to make it more like a pistol, sure.

nope. when the firearm malfs on an inexperienced user, it becomes a club.
I love this all more than I can tell you.

You're arguing literally that the less bullets a mass shooter has readily available the more he will kill...

I'll defer to your experience. I don't own big sticks for my handguns, but I know that as magazine capacity goes up, reliability (generally) drops...consistent spring pressure and the structural integrity of magazines...
I bought some 33 round mags for my G19 and a bunch of 10 round mags (not made by Glock) for my G43 for use when target shooting. I like to load every round I'm going to shoot before I head to the range so I can focus on just shooting when I'm there rather than having to stop and reload. It is cheaper to buy the larger mags for this.

That said, I do have a couple of those 10 round mags that consistently don't lock the slide back when empty. Again, those are not made by Glock. Glock makes quality products.

there's nothing high-capacity about 30 rds in an AR.

you're the only one thinking they got some n00b bait here.
I used english to describe a comparison. More bullets, higher capacity.
You twisted that into high capacity as a category to argue a man made of a straw like substance.

as I pointed out, you can get the same level of reliability out of 2 hands with Glocks.
Except that's not what gets the high scores.

Come again?
Incel shooter doesn't know anything about target placement. It's not just easier to hit the target at a variety of distances with an AR versus a pistol. It's also easier for said rifle hit to result in a kill.

My original statements were about killing. I agree with you that a rifle with a larger mag is going to be easier to hit more victims than a rifle with smaller mag/pistol with equal size mag as rifle/pistol with smaller mag. I also believe that the rifle is easier to kill with, not just easier to use to get on target.

i'm telling you that having a lot of rounds doesn't mean you can put those rounds in targets.

this shouldn't come as a surprise.

No one said that.
Stay with us.

If I don't know how to shoot, more bullets gives me a better probability of more hits in a mass shooting. Wild I know.

no. firearms (in general but especially ARs) lose reliability as magazine capacity is increased beyond a certain threshold.

Appeal to exception.

Over 4/5 with semiautomatic rifles as I already linked you the 50 deadliest shootings in history.
you're claiming to know the mortality if the shooter had used a handgun. But you're not providing a logical basis for that, besides "bigger magazine" - which I've already pointed out isn't actually a thing.

I'm telling you that based on platform characteristics and venue, handguns would have been more deadly.

BeardOfKnowledge @BeardOfKnowledge also disagrees with me, but at least his perspective is defensible and based on his experience.

I see.
Force me to get away from a specific example of 30 vs 10 round mags because you want to argue circularly. Now you will argue at the extremes in the abstract.

Go back to telling me how an inexperienced shooters needs less bullets to be more lethal my man.

I didn't even read this post anymore since you started it with "you're claiming.."

I said a 30 round mag gives a better chance to hit more targets than a 10 round mag.
The rest of this is just you changing the conversation and me falling for the bait.

In general I agree with your assessment except the mags. I agree that available ammo makes a difference, but a guy with a 30 rounder isn't going to be much quicker than a guy with 6- 5 rounders assuming they've spent anytime practicing mag changes. You'll see it when Canadians go south for IDPA or USPSA shoots.

You're making such a beautiful strawman. Amazing, really.

Is there some special restriction on magazines that makes 15 rd mags harder to get than 10 rd?

are you doing to argue "more reloads" or something?

so magazine capacity is in some way correlated to accuracy?

how many people can you shoot with a malfed weapon that you don't have the experience to clear?
