lol i was shaking in my boots the first few days, until i saw enough spetznaz fighting like they never even did basic training in a bunch of different cities, then i was just confused how their professional troops sucked so hard. i knew the gopnik army sucked from georgia, i just thought maybe the spetznaz knew basic tactics and shit.

that was the beginning of my internet generaling career. feels like forever ago. we’ve all learned so much.

I'm not convinced that this comparative strength of western militaries doesn't ultimately betray a big structural weakness though. Entire militaries that have spent the last 70 years fighting nothing but farmers built upon maximizing huge advantages and minimizing casualties.

Everything is so specialized that most people in them don't think they'll ever even be in a combat situation against an enemy that can fight back properly. In a future peer war, we might find out that having such small teams of highly trained pros are fairly useless and what you really need is just masses of adequately trained troops with high morale.
