She is 10. Pretty sure the "it was consensual" is out the window.

And if names aren't disclosed I don't see where the doctor has violated anything. I'm not saying it isn't made up as it fits perfectly in line with the whole "This is how dumb this is" scenario, but there are an awful lot of news outlets running with it.

I actually hope it is false. No girl should have to go through that shit.
As you said, there's a lot of moving parts for this story to he true. But if you're a doctor and a pregnant 10 year old rape victims comes into your office 3 days past the limit. You fucking lie.

point is, he could have said her pregnancy began a week later and given her the abortion.

"First, do no harm"
At what risk?

Assuming there is a recorded date of rape and the actual conception date can be proved.

There are lunatics chomping at the bit to sue - or bring murder chargers against - the 1st doctor that steps outside of the law. It will happen eventually.

Weird argument.

You have to pick a day to change weeks. And it's always the same day, coz otherwise it would be retarded. So you are doing days.

Its Wednesday here.
Here they ask a woman when she last had a period and add 28 days. As you point out, the date is arbitrary so to say "Sorry, you missed it by 3 days." is, in a word, retarded.

It's based on when you tell them your last ovulation was.
It's also informed by the development of the fetus and if you know the date of conception - lots of women are irregular and if you haven't had your period in a few months months or don't know when you ovulated, I don't think they say you're so many months pregnant.

I'm just saying it's not a red flag that the story is fake. There are other possibilities there, including that doctors who don't want to be in the hot seat are going by the book - as we saw with Texas that doctors were sending women out of state for needed procedures.

But I really wouldn't know of course - I think I saw the person who originally told the story on twitter - really who tf knows what's true anymore.

Even by your own metrics it demonstrates that conception dates, unless you had sex once during your ovulation cycle, are largely inaccurate. You example of growth, although is a thing they do is still inaccurate. You might just have a big baby or one developing faster than normal. That being said, of the exact date was known how on the fuck does it take over 6 weeks before you start doing something about it.

In at least one pregnancy ok aware of the woman knew her date of conception and was told "It doesn't work that way."

To your point, we'll more than likely never know if the story is true. That's the fun thing about stories that can't be verified, you get to just out them out in the world with no downside.

Granted, that story also suggests that in Ohio there's some child rapist running around who didn't make the news.

Except it's illegal. And in cases of child rape, police investigations can follow. Which will determine the exact dates of everything.

Put this blame where it belongs - on the state, the SCOTUS and Trump who loaded the court for this very reason. Trying to scapegoat a doctor because he won't break the law instead of calling out those who caused this is pathetic.

If this is a case of child rape, there already is a case and investigation and someone made the decision to just wait it out and see what happens.

The blame for a very obviously fake story? The blame belongs with the people who published it, the people who gave it to them and the dupes who put their ideologies ahead of any sort of objective thought.

Usually, especially if the person is regular or trying to get pregnant, the way you are describing is how it works. But there are circumstances that can alter that.

But in any case, theories or rumors I'm seeing are worse than the story being fake or that the doctor made a hokey call.
Some people think there is a girl who was already in court for having been raped by her father but that possibly people waited extra time to use her politically in this fashion. Other people think they didn't know she was pregnant because she had not actually started menstruating yet.

I've been seeing people state these things as facts, and also people up in arms that the news was "planted" where teens would get it and now a lot of teenagers are apparently talking about it.

No clue what's true on this, but I have heard that the girl is getting the care she needs now, which I hope is true.

No it ain't.

It is not exact but as I said, you pick a day and go with it for all intends and purposes including legal questions I would assume. I can not fathom it is different in the US.
A doctor does or a midwife or dunno who picks a day based on a certain standard. The doctor here might not have been the one to pick it either btw.

So lets say the story is true, and the doctor normally speaks in weeks+, meaning she was 6 weeks +, which is already too much.
Let's say a journalist asks exactly how many days +, and he says well since the switch is Wednesdays and she came in on Saturday, it's 3 days.

So the journalist writes 6 weeks, 3 days.
Its a perfectly possible scenario.

Not necessarily, the crime may not have been reported immediately.

You're the one trying to shift blame to a doctor ?‍♂

It all traces back to orangeman
Agreed. He said this was his intention beforehand and bragged about it afterwards.

Then they also don't have a firm date of conception.

In a case such as this, that's where it belongs. However, if the case is fake, which it likely is. It's just good old fashioned fear mongering for political gain.

As I've just explained, in a case such as this, the doctor has his hands tied because the abortion would be illegal.

Trump loaded the SCOTUS purposely to overturn Roe vs Wade.
Ohio immediately outlaws abortion.
10 year old girl is raped and impregnated.

So the girl is there for a pregnancy that happened during a rape, but there's also not been a rape reported. So where does your time machine fit into this?

So no one else who did nothing in 50 years bears any responsibility? The current administration who could have, or could be, drafting legislation bear no responsibility either?

Where are you even getting it from that it was a rape? It didn't say that in the story.

Having any discussion with you is painful. You're either trolling or very, very thick. In case it's the second, here is a hypothetical timeline that removes blame from the doctor:

A child is raped. She is threatened and doesn't report it.
At a later date, it becomes evident that she is pregnant.
At some point she manages to find someone to report it to the police and take her to see a doctor. The date of conception is known but it is too late for her to get an abortion. The doctor cannot lie at this point.

Where are you even getting it from that it was a rape? It didn't say that in the story.
Ok, we're done. A 10 year old got pregnant but you question whether it was rape. You absolute piece of shit.
