The problem with these stats (I have no idea if true or not) is the way they're implying that 15-19 are not adolescents. I don't think I've ever seen a definition of adolescent that didn't include those ages.

I can see how they would justify their language by saying they didn't actually say 15-19 aren't adolescents, but they clearly chose to add spin instead of just saying the ages in the categories they wanted.

That makes me less inclined to trust them without additional evidence from other sources.

I don't like abortions. I wish there wasn't a situation of any kind that necessitated an abortion. That said, I also work with foster programs and they are broken as fuck. So if anyone feels that they need to have an abortion for any reason, I'm in favor of it because that's someone that's acknowledging that they're not fit to parent at that point in their life.
Since the alternatives are a broken adoption system, a broken foster system, and being unfit parents... I'm all for aborting if that's what the parents want to do.

Sadly, some of the people who choose to have the abortions are far more responsible and fit to parent than the dipshits that press on and have a kid that there's no way they can support financially or emotionally.

my parents fostered for about 15 years, and some of the stories you heard, not to mention the ones they experienced, are appalling.

in the end, they ended up adopting the last three kids they fostered so they didn’t have to go back into the system. And now I have 3 siblings 30+ years younger than me ??‍♂

All true as I've said before, the American people (and all people for thst matter) deserve better but for some reason most Americans have been convinced we don't deserve better and will fight to not have it.

We (the US) really should be ashamed of ourselves. We have convinced ourselves that our system is so great that we don't realize how badly we are being fucked. The people of the US really deserve a better system then having to file for bankruptcy if you get sick.
