Elon has a history of doing things for one person. Himself. So he made the bid due to his calculated financial benefit.
But he did so after waiving due diligence. That's beyond stupid.
Although i never worked in the IB division, my friends do. And I've literally never heard of a team not doing due diligence. That's the entire point of the job before submitting a bid.
