Did some ill-advised midnight running on the quad last night. Told the wife I was just taking the trash down. When I got back my hair looked like Akroyd and Chase in Spies Like Us because I was driving so fast.

a) make sure the breaker was properly labeled and shut if off before starting work, verifying zero energy with a meter
b) pop the breaker by shorting the wires at the switch with a screwdriver
c) work hot.

I turned the breaker off, I did not test with a meter. other lights on the same breaker turned off when I flipped it so I felt comfortable enough to proceed.

Typically A, but not above choice B if I need to

when we moved into this house none of our breakers were labeled properly. But I think all of them are sorted out now ?

I usually just touch the wires together. As long as I'm holding the wire at the insulation I figure I'm good.

But I've worked hot plenty. Only been bit a couple times.

Put another coat of stain on the deck today. Some finishing touches tomorrow to wrap it up. Sun wrecked that shit.
