I don't eat bread anymore, and most of it isn't even bread.
But this is a recent diet change.
When I did, I ate everything but if the heels were last(as planned) I'd toss them.
HOWEVER, in real bread it's the best part, like burnt ends on a brisket.

I’m the only one on the house that eats it. Well, my daughter will eat it if i trick her by turning it over when i make her grilled cheese. Other than that, it’s a hard pass from her. I don’t mind it, but maybe that’s because we grew up poor. If we were lucky enough to have a loaf of bread, we ate it all.
Also, a girl i used to work with couldn’t believe i ate ‘the butt’ of the bread. Only time I’ve heard it called that
