Ive got a major grub problem so I treated all elevated beds and potted plants with predatory nematodes today while my dog lounged in the sun.

I cleaned up two whiskey barrels today and put in a bunch of lettuce seedlings.

Another planter is filling in slowly but surely.

I added cow manure compost as a top dress last Sunday and we've had a bit of rain in the past few days. The combo of the two have the lettuce looking really healthy.

The lettuce seedlings in these two whiskey barrels are growing very slowly. Since we don't have much light this time of year they got off to a really bad start and just aren't as vigorous as they should be. I should have supplemented light but oh well.

The Mizuna and lettuce in this planter is about ready for its first cut.

All my starts are under the lights inside, most have sprouted now
About done freezing at night up here
I've got a grip of starts going too. They've been outside but yesterday we had rain so I took them indoors. There has been rain today as well but ill put them outside again tomorrow.

I'm pretty butthurt that my Chinese golden cabbage bolted. It must have been the lack of light. I sowed these in December and they just haven't liked the lack of photosynthesis.

Finally getting that sunlight I need and we're starting to look good in the whiskey barrels.

This is a romaine variety called freckles/speckled trout. Really stunning variety and tastes good as well.

I've already mowed this one down and it's ready for another cut.

This is ready for its first cut. I believe this whiskey barrel has 17 lettuce plants in it with high intensity planting.

Planted this pot in merlot lettuce around the rim and a waldmans in the center. The contrast in colors is insane, especially once it comes to size. Merlot is the darkest purple I've found. Loaded with anthocyanins.

Golden cabbage.
image000003.jpg
The long container is canton pak Choi and purple lady bokimage000002.jpg
Container on right was multi-sown chamiin radish seeds. Container in center is marvel of 4 seasons around the rim and grand rapids in the center. Container on left is little gem.

This whiskey barrels is (low to high) black seeded Simpson, grand rapids, lolla rosso, ruby leaf, and prizehead. there is also the mustard green that I left in the container since its still doing well.
I didn't take pics but I also potted up 2 jalapeño plants. pretty productive day.

I envy that time, I have virtually none & will have crap crops this year if any, working WAY too late on the garden.
Unfortunately a $100,000 house claim among many other things has me far behind, but I managed to get something going at least.
