Lol, I watched that earlier.
I can't believe Tucker ate that pepper, he so crazy.
I had a serrano plant in a pot last year and once it gave me the last of the peppers I did absolutely zero to it. I figured I would deal with the pot in the spring, recharge the soil, and plant something else into it. Without even pruning or watering (other than rain), it came back nice and strong. I was blown away. This is now my strategy for my jalepeno and serrano plants. We shall see if neglecting everything works, but for now I have new flowers forming so I'm hopeful for an early december harvest.

Did you ferment anything yet?
I think you would dig it.

We just made escabeche(Mexican spicy pickled veggies) tonight...Canned 3 jars, fermented 1 large jar, and put two large jars in the fridge as a fresh pickling...pretty simple...Taco Trucks/Stands her serve some fresh escabeche with a plate of tacos, I love it

Very few nights dip into the 30's, and I don't think we had a single night last year at freezing. Basically most nights are in the 40's in the coldest months. We've certainly had colder winters but I'm right by the border and on the coast, so our winters are pretty mild. Having said that, we had 11 months colder than average temperatures, so my spring and summer crops were all fucked up.

Sounds nice for plants

It hits 32f probably 30 times per winter here and sometimes goes to 10 degrees, Long growing season but it certainly has an end

We get sub 32 a few times a year during cold years, but it isn't a regular thing. Having said that, it gets about 1 degree colder for each mile you head inland from the coast (same with hotter temps during summers), so certain areas of the county certainly have more extreme temps given the season. I'm 30 minutes from snow in winter.

Arnie Tex just posted this today and it looks amazing. Don't know if you can use it for canning or not.

Nice, love the video

Haven't grown a Puya plant yet...Had a massive Guajarillo crop last year and dried and preserved a couple years worth

That method is about how I make my best salsas/hot sauces...I love grilled ingredients, they make it amazing

I will steal his strainer over the coals trick

I've never needed to add water but I use fresher peppers so their is more liquid

I would also add fire roasted onion and cilantro to that blender...maybe a couple fired tomatoes

You can can anything...so that would be nice canned, you just have to add proper citrus or vinegar and cook for the proper time in boiling water...We can all types of stuff like that

Love making Salsa, that guy in the video is my spirit animal

He has a grip of salsa videos (cooking and grilling as well). He used to own a bunch of restaurants, but now sells his spices and makes youtube videos. His mom makes a mean Mexican rice.

I just made a rather large purchase.
That clip of My Dinner with Andre has been going through my head since the Plandemic started.
"This is a Pine tree, escape before it's too late".
I may very well fail at this project, but better to try & fail than stay in the prison.

Your climate must be quite different from PNW for the lime and avocado(or greenhouse? )
Yes technically the south, hot, humid, much more sun.
Winters are mild but dryer.
I needed to go someplace I could grow my staples mrna-free.

Nice

Me being from PNW also I would try all sorts of different edible trees and shrubs

Maybe plant some future valued trees as well if that is possible
