The world's most popular dictator, we'll see how that lasts long term. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, as the saying goes. Every other long term dictator ended up being a nightmare for the people he ruled.

The number of innocent people living through hell in those horribly overcrowded prisons must be pretty high, given how basically nobody got a fair shake of the stick during the "trial" process.

The homicide rate is way down, can't argue the numbers. Still, as a bloke called Benjamin Franklin once said, “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”.

It is crazy how much cleaner Salvador is now I follow a Salvador page on Instagram. If mexico city was that tough on crime it would surpass NYC as a metropolitan area.
