I need to do this. Had an old timer tell me to cut them low, mix diesel and weed killer and paint the cut/stumps so they don’t grow back. He named a specific weed killer but I can’t remember it off the top of my head.
This is basically what I do. Minus the diesel.
I just use Round Up, but I recently ordered a weed kill called 2,4-D which was recommended by an environmental scientist I met while in Texas. He said it's safer. He didn't have many good things to say about Round Up and its main chemical - glysophate.

Whenever possible I uproot the honeysuckle. You can usually pull out the bushes that have a 1" diameter or less. Those too big to pull I cut, then poison the cut area. It works. In areas that aren't heavily trafficked, I like to cut the stump about 12" from the ground. The next season when it's completely dead you can just kick them over with hardly any effort at all. Much better than having a 1" tall stump you can't really get to and you basically have to wait until it rots.

I'm also considering making one of these for the bigger ones I can't pull out:

Jam it under the base, then leverage back to pop it out if the ground.

I’ve recommended 24D either here or on the OG in the past. Works great. Or so I hear from my relatives in Nebraska since it’s illegal in CA. 😉

I really don't think 2,4-D is safe at all

Please use precautions/protection

Round up is baaaaaaaad news for the soils for many years. I'd avoid that at all costs.

I'm not wide-spread spraying it. Just giving the open cut a drink. I wouldn't think that would get to the soil.

I'm open to other options. Honeysuckle has taken over this area and I've made it my life mission to clear it out. It's fucking everywhere and it's choking out all other plant life.

I don't have any experience with honey suckle, but I do know a bit about roundup because I've seen people not buy properties after soils tests.

Epic fail, but lesson learned.

Looking for dinner I found a water moccasin, blew his ass in half, went to pick his floating body out of the water, still alive, slithered away into the waters.
No dinner.

I needed a new gas grill so i went to lowes a few weeks ago thinking i'd pick up an $800 weber. i then saw a larger weber that i liked better, then got to the napoleon which was the same size but $200 cheaper. I went home to research and ended going down a pretty deep rabbit hole. Well basically almost $2,500 later I made my purchase...
I spent the better half of the day putting this bad motherfucker together. It's supposed to be a 2 person job and I knew I was in trouble when it was delivered on a pallet, lol. Whatever, got it done by myself with some struggles. It comes with a rotisserie and has a back burner that is elevated for that, then it has this bad ass searing station where one of those useless side burners would normally go. The searing station gets to a screaming 15,000 btu's for steak.

I went out and caught dinner for my family before the storms hit here today. Here’s a few of them & they were delicious.

That brand of grill usually surrenders before it takes up a flame.

Those are some giant fucking bluegill. How'd they taste?
Delicious dude. I love bluegill and crappie. Remember that lot I told you we bought on that private 81 acre lake? That right there is why we bought it. Heading out there with my wife and daughter right now to do some kayaking and fishing.

Just got back from fixing my car and chopping wood for the fireplace. How about you?
welcome to the forum. Went out to the lake with my wife and daughter today and caught these in about an hour and a half, which isn’t bad considering I was babysitting their ass the entire time.

“babe I’m in a tree”

“dad can you put my worm on”

“babe it’s hot out here”

“Hand me a water dad”
