Does it shoot nice?
Yes, it's actually a pleasure to shoot. I never tried it with the curved trigger it came with, but I could tell that was a real problem just on dry firing, so I replaced that off the bat. I'd probably have complaints if I kept that stock trigger.
Get used to it. Make it familiar to you. Enjoy.

I heard something years ago like the polymer was thick ar the base of the mag so it wouldn't slide all the way in, and also heard the shape of the mag was slightly different, but I've never examined it.

A Glock is a Glock is a Glock unless it's a gen 5. That's suppose to be an advantage of Glock.
I've never had one because I haven't liked the vertical space it takes up. I've always been worried about it catching on clothing. I'm considering getting one for my p320 just to give it a go. Unfortunately the footprint on the m18 is fucksville, so I'll need to either pay a ton for the two optics that have that footprint, or buy an optic and buy a converter plate to make those fit. It's like Apple had insight in designing this thing.
While drawing? I clean draw is a clean draw. It doesn't take much practice. It's pretty much the same. I find it faster to get on target. It took some time to find the dot at first, but practice fixes that. Just like with irons, you want your draw to be the same every time.
Yes, on draw. I would disagree that a clean draw is a clean draw if everything is equal. Yes, practice makes perfect, but I don't wear baggy t-shirts. I am in an undershirt with button down dress shirt, tucked in, 95% of the time I am carrying concealed. Not an easy draw either way. Certainly lots of shit to get caught up on with a red dot IWB.
Ah, the GlockStore had my answer. I dunno why I went to Google for an answer and not YouTube. It looks like my grandfathered mags are good to go.

Watching expensive guns drop is not easy.
I think I'm going to change up the layout of my safe.
I think I'm going to get rid of that wooden shelf I made a while back and get some rifle rods for the long guns. I'll put those closer to the right side in a couple of rows. I might move the short shotty to that side as well, then I'll put the pegboard back on the left side to use along with the rear pegboard to store some of the stuff on the top shelf mainly the magazines to make them more easily accessible. I'll probably get some bins for some of the other stuff up there, and add some lighting.
My main goal is to clean up that top shelf. Shit gets messy up there which makes it hard to find and/or access things. Switching to rifle rods should allow me to store more long guns in there over the long haul.

My daughter had the same question awhile back, we went to Udaho & asked a gun shop, that's what they told her.
Someday I'll own a Glock, they just don't feel good in my hand.
That's what Glock initially came out and said when they released the gen 5.
The angle of the grip is a turnoff for many folks.
Also, I figured out the magazines that came with my gen 3 are actually gen 4 mags. The gen 4 G19 was already out when I bought my gen 3, but I didn't care for the change in the texture of the frame or the size of the mag release. I chose to buy the gen 3 instead of the latest. I guess Glock updated their manufacturing line for the magazines and exclusively made gen 4 mags since they are backwards compatible. They just shipped those with new gen 3 Glocks.
Just installed new glow in the dark sights. They were cheap ones, but they're metal unlike the plastic stock glock sights so they will be more durable. I was going to go with more expensive truglo tritium, but then learned that tritium is great up to low light, but require some light to actually glow. The ones I got were phosphate so they actually glow in the dark.
