So who's gonna be the asshole that owns a Taurus?
I have one. A PT709 slim. Seemed like a great choice for my first carry pistol. I had no idea Taurus' reputation at the time, but it has lived up to it. The extractor slips off the rim, resulting in every imaginable kind of feeding failure. What a hunk of junk. And Taurus wouldn't give or even sell me a new extractor; they wanted me to ship the gun to them. I gave up and vowed to never buy another one of the products.

But that is not even the worst gun I own. I bought a Rossi Wizard, which is a single shot, break-action rifle platform that allows you to swap out barrels for different cartridges. I got it originally in .30-06, not realizing the fact that rifle was so light was going to mean a lot of recoil. But the worst thing about is that even at just 50 yards it shoots a group size of about 20 inches. I thought maybe I just got unlucky and got a bad barrel, so I bought one in 22-250, and got the same result. What a pile of crap.

These are on sale for $90. That's as cheap as they get.

Not the actual one, of course, but this is what my wife carries. She had a Micro 9 but saw this and had to have it. I approved because I like her not having a manual safety.

I think I'm going to change up the layout of my safe.

I think I'm going to get rid of that wooden shelf I made a while back and get some rifle rods for the long guns. I'll put those closer to the right side in a couple of rows. I might move the short shotty to that side as well, then I'll put the pegboard back on the left side to use along with the rear pegboard to store some of the stuff on the top shelf mainly the magazines to make them more easily accessible. I'll probably get some bins for some of the other stuff up there, and add some lighting.

My main goal is to clean up that top shelf. Shit gets messy up there which makes it hard to find and/or access things. Switching to rifle rods should allow me to store more long guns in there over the long haul.

Current setup:

I finally got the items I ordered for doing this.

I bought some string lights, a motion sensor, and a power adapter off of Amazon for better lighting in there. I also picked up what is suppose to be an desk mounted outlet, drilled a 2" hole through the side of the cabinet and installed the outlet to power the lights.

I glued some velcro to the bottom of the shelf, took out that wooden rack I made a while back, and switched to rifle rods.

I also ordered some magazine racks that I mounted to the peg board. I still have a couple more to put up, but I ran out of screws.

And I grabbed some plywood I had and made a shelf to make the top shelf of the cabinet more eye level, and it gives me a place to store some ammo boxes.

I ordered that scope mount that Papi Chingon @Papi Chingon suggested a while back. Once it is delivered, I'll mount that scope to the .308.

Looks really good. Much cleaner from the previous setup and the lights are a nice addition.

Here in the Free State of Florida I show my CCW and walk out with it. If you don’t have one it’s a 3-day wait.
We are communist 10 day waiting period, and only one firearm per 30 days (actually, I think it's more like one per 40 because you can't dros a second until the 30 days is up, then there is the 10 day waiting period yet again). Complete and total bullshit. Back in 2010ish you could buy as many long guns as you wanted and it was a 10 day waiting period, but with any pistol it was a 21 day waiting period, and only one handgun per purchase/21 days. Newsom also just implemented an 11% sales tax on all firearms and ammo, on top of California sales tax. We also have background checks for ammo purchases, and can't order online and have it delivered to our houses. As a result ammo is extremely expensive here because everyone is price gouging. It's really fucked and it's not getting any better.

Hopefully more gets overturned soon. I recently purchased a Rizzini O/U 12ga and the 21% total tax added almost 500 to the total
Yeah, I had a hard time stomaching the tax. Really, really hard time stomaching the tax actually. I had to tell myself, if this gun was "x" amount of dollars would you buy it? The answer on this 1911 was yes. Buy once, cry once I guess.
