Yeah we have paid cleaners too but there is more than enough work to go around. I think part of the problem is that the long term unemployed have a lack of a productive routine, making them work for benefits would help them establish a productive routine as well as give them a sense of purpose.For the most part, while I agree that having people do jobs like picking up trash would be productive, they already pay people to do that here. Wouldnt want them to lose their job due to cheaper labor. I would rather supplement someone that was working a actual job than supporting them for nothing in return. Unfortunately there is no perfect solution, to the lazy people problem, without going full socialist and telling everyone where to work.
The possibilities are endless, how about the government makes them do yard work for the elderly for example?
