Do you know anything about building ships?

Space X sure don't, Thier keep blowing up. You should apply there if you have no experience at all.

1) Dude..... is your tesla hate so strong you bring it everywhere you go?
2) There is a strong tradition of ship builders doing what they know with buildings on land. Alot of the "historical" buildings across America are simply upside down boats. It was the construction they knew.
All these boat builders got jobs as barn builders, they were some of the few skilled tradesman to go "west".
Look up next time you are in something old (besides OPs mom) and you will likely be looking at a boat keel flipped over.

OK, overdue update-
We were having power problems, kept blowing breakers from the 100' cord to the house.
There was a raw power line to site that had never been finished, so we paused welding for a bit.
My buddy started putting up a temp box while I finished breaking down 2×6's for the pony walls.
1000000214.jpg1000000215.jpg
Eventually this will be moved to the back wall that hasn't been built yet..

No pics of actually welding the corner brackets on, but this was the process
1000000194.jpg1000000195.jpg
We pressure washed and scrubbed the containers, you wouldn't believe how grimy they were. Black water just pouring off.
Got em painted to match the house on weds. Epoxy based paint, should last longer than we do on this earth

Here's a picture of the corner brackets in their final resting place.

Literally welded and cemented to the ground.
1000000212.jpg1000000213.jpg
They aren't going anywhere.

Next steps are welding bolts to tops to secure the pony walls, build pony walls, crane day to set trusses, sheet and roof.

Stay tuned

It makes sense actually. A flipped over boat makes a great roof

By we, I mean I'm drinking beer, listening to Robert Earl Keen, and handing him tools between posts.

Wrong thermostat post cooling system shop rebuild. We about cracked the block last weekend.
That was the maiden voyage after he bought this thing last year and has been slowly working on it.
Made a "more money than time" decision and sent to a shop for this.

Now he's in "if you want something done right" mode.
Hes a hell of a mechanic, he's disgusted and pissed right now as he takes apart their work. It's hilarious to watch, lol.

It's literally every hose and fitting that he apparently paid good American dollars to all be hand tightened.

Maiden voyage was a fucking disaster.
Got hot "for no reason".
Pulled the Doghouse cover and I had just enough time to see the bottom hose working off the ripple.
Just enough time to throw his kid forward and dive on him before the boiling hot antifreeze shot everywhere.
Nobody got burnt somehow.

Then we were dead adrift while we dealt with all that.
Got beached.
Sucked sand and rocks when we fired back up with a "radiator" full of murkey lake water.

It was some legit rednecking!

Got her home without assistance, called a win.

Yea sending shit off for refurb etc can sometimes be a nightmare. We used to send certain parts away because of contracts that had been signed and we knew they were gonna do a shit job so would spend extra time ourselves doing what he's doing.

Fun time.

When you posted this on Saturday I was in the pool floating on a tube and listening to Robert Earl Keen while crushing beers, lol.

I've been on a REK kick since I went to College Station a few weeks back and did some drinking at the Dixie Chicken.

Got to see him here locally on what turned out to be his last tour.
3rd time overall.

He wasn't looking good, but he was in point. Time before that he was just plain hammered, lol. Lyle Lovitt had to carry the show.
