Many fighters and coaches have voiced their opinions on what Ronda Rousey should do following the first loss of her mixed martial arts career, and she finally announced her decision.

Almost a month after her stunning knockout loss to Holly Holm in Australia, Rousey will continue to train with her longtime coach Edmond Tarverdyan when she decides to return to the Octagon, despite all the hate between her mother and Tarverdyan.

"Of course I'm staying (with Tarverdyan)," Rousey told ESPN. "That's my mom's opinion, not mine."

Prior to UFC 193, Rousey’s mother AnnMaria DeMars called Edmond Tarverdyan "a terrible coach", saying she "would run over him with my car if there wasn't a law against it."

DeMars didn't attend the fight.

"I told Ronda I am not going to go because I love you more than winning," she says in the report. "I did not think she was in the right place, and I couldn't pretend any longer that I thought she was."

Rousey plans to return to action, saying she needs to come back and "beat this chick."

Cyborg is the smartest and Honda...well not so much. Does Ed act more like a publicist than a coach?? ie: he's behind a lot of her marketability?

Smh...ok,then stubbrn ass get whipped again...instead of making improvements and admitting her coach isnt the answer she would rather pretend it was just her being tired leading up to the fight...I dont feel bad for her one bit, and she will beat even worse this time

Well than she gets beat again.... Zuffa will then give her a Tate fight and after Ronda will call it a career. Ronda wants out, so they won't let her fight a future contender like Pena or Nunes.

Well that's a wrap. She's delusional and not willing to do what's necessary to get better.

Here's a transcript of the conversation Dana had with Ronda leading up to UFC 193...

Ronda Rousey: Why'd you leave? Why'd you walk away like that?

Dana White: Life's too short, kid.

Ronda Rousey: Where you goin?

Dana: I'm goin on a permanent vacation.

Ronda: What are you talkin about? We got one more fight.

Dana: No, no, not me, you.

Ronda: Why you doin this?

[Dana doesn't answer]

Ronda: I said why you doin this?!?

Dana: Because you can't win, Ronda! This girl'll kill you to death inside of three rounds!

Ronda: You're crazy!

Dana: What else is new?

Ronda: She's just another fighter!

Dana: No she ain't just another fighter. This girl is a wrecking machine and she's hungry! Hell, you ain't been hungry since you won that belt!

Ronda: Aw, what are you talking about I've had 7 title defenses?

Dana: That was easy!

Ronda: What do you mean easy?

Dana: They was hand picked!

Ronda: Set ups?

Dana: Nah they wasn't set ups! They was good fighters but they wasn't killers like this girl. She'll knock you to tomorrow, Ronda!

Ronda: Jeez, Dana. Why'd you do it?

Dana: Because the reviews that you got from the Expendables 3 should've killed you, kid. It didn't. It was my job to keep you winning and to keep you healthy.

Ronda: You really don't think I got nothing left do you?

Dana: Well, Ronda, let's put it this way. Now, three years ago you was supernatural. You was hard and you was nasty and you didn't need lube and you had this cast-iron jaw but then....,the worst thing happened to you, that could happen to any fighter. You got civilized. Magazine covers. Movie premieres. But don't worry kid. You know, presidents retire, horses retire, horsewomen retire, Bazler retired. They put her out to stud. That's what you should've done, retired.

Ronda: I can't retire knowing all this, Dana.

I guess we'll see how not switching camps, and getting a big break from things to recover mentally and physically will go for Ronda.

Well, not switching camps doesn't mean she cant put out big money for different coaches and training partners to help her. Not sure if the count would like that tho.

What became of that Edmond bankruptcy thing anyway?

He pulled a no show on his court date (the Monday after 193 I believe it was). We haven't heard anything much since then I don't believe.

Would it make a difference even if she did? Is she suddenly going to be able to outbox a world champion boxer if she changes camp?

I'm not a big fan of Edmond, but let's face facts: Ronda has achieved incredible success under the guy. Her hands have come a long way training under him, but she's not going to win a striking match with Holly, who was competing in pro boxing and kickboxing when Ronda was a junior in high school. You can bring in Freddie Roach, Robert Garcia, whoever, and it's not going to bring up her to the level of a Holly Holm.

Her chance is to get it to the ground.

I agree 100%. She doesn't need to outbox Holm. No woman in MMA is going to outbox her but that doesn't mean she's unbeatable. She has flaws in her game just like everyone else. The problem with Ronda staying with Edmund is he's not a strategist. He's a boxing coach. She needs to be with someone who can design a training camp around exploiting Holm's weaknesses, not one trying to beat her at what she does best. It's just fuckin stupid.

I really want Ronda to come back and get the title again and prove everybody wrong but I'm not getting my hopes up if nothing changes.

Not changing camps is like not making an adjustment after round 1. Clearly the gameplan wasn't working. It feels like the smart thing would've been to admit that and try something different. Instead, she just kept plodding forward until she got slept.

Maybe she was 'just tired', but Holly stopped the takedowns and defended well in the clinch and on the ground.

I don't see her learning how to out-strike Holly but it NEVER HURTS to find a master tactician/mastermind who sees holes and patterns that the others do not and that is why they are paid the money they are and have the rep they do.

Can you imagine the meltdown if she gets destroyed again? She might spontaneously combust in the cage!

She's showing how fragile she is. If i cant beat her i quit. waa waa. She really needed a camp change, that was her chance to win. BUT, what if she brings in higher level sparring partners & other coaches but continues with edmund?

Ronda has achieved incredible success under the guy. Her hands have come a long way training under him, but

Her Judo has become simple and less dynamic.

Her striking is no where near wear one would expect if she is truly just focusing hands.

He doesn't have game planning.

Ronda was an Olympic athlete before Edmond. Her entire success is likely due to her previous years and a niche fight style that no one knew how to prepare.

Nothing until the Beth fight could even closely be considered an improvement in fight style. Literally the same head control to occasional ankle pick.

Wrestling? Nope.
Kicks? Two in the entire career -- both same fight against Miesha.

Holly didnt beat Ronda boxing. She beat her in MMA. The left arm up blocking shots. Defending the standard overhooks, and elbowing Ronda in the face.
Striking wise, Ronda ran forward throwing the same sloppy lead hook, despite Holly circling. There was nothing magical about Holly in the striking department other than how strong she hits due to technique. This was not a lot of clever head movement, dynamic strikes, etc by Holly. This was bull rush hooks with NO backup plan for an opponent that simply circled. Even 4 fights ago Ronda was losing the standup anytime someone circled...but they usually stopped and started to get in a straight line striking match, eventually losing to the Judo sweep. Holly just kept focused and did the same plan.

There is no net positive from Edmond that I can see. Holly would have had a higher chance of losing from more dynamic Judo than anything Edmond added to her game. And her time with Edmond has lowered that Judo threat.

Ronda is loyal to a fault.
She was quick enough to dump her manager that paid for her to live, when she started out, once a better option came along. He is now suing for restitution. I wouldn't say she is loyal to a fault.
