I've only driven though Ohio, but to see this happen to an American town is gross, and done on purpose. It's punitive. It's extra dirty to do it to the red parts of the country. A true invasion. Been going on for decades, but the last 5-10yrs has been at an insane pace. The country is resilient to a degree due to its size, but unless things change, the writing is on the wall.
