I also use ollas to water my veggies.

Fall is upon us and here it's almost the end of 100's. I picked up some starters and will also start my winter seeds soon. I got peppers Yolo Wonder, serrano, Anaheim, jalapeños, arbol, banans, shishito. Patio tomatoes and I'm going to also gets some cherry tomatoes.

This Is the beginning what's every doing!

What zone are you in? That's a lot of brown for this time of year here.
Phoenix is zone 9b to 10 it's hot here and I let my garden die in the summer when it's 115 plus only had 2 plants survive!

That explains it!
Yeah I raked the leaves and will be gradually added fresh soil and compost to the pots and pruning the ollas to leech water to the plants. Tomorrow going to plant seeds got lettuce, brocoli Rabe, carrots and herbs that the Indians used to grow in the desert.

Great looking soil. Do you add the fallen leaves for micro nutrients?

I never got the watering down correctly, for potted gardens. It's always too wet or too dry.

It's been a couple years since I grew anything. I'm about to move from zone 9 to zone 6. Lots to learn.

I water with the ollas in the center. I'll hand water until the ollas take and then just refill them. The soil I have get to from Arizona Worm Farm and I used starters for the shorter season will use the seed in the spring band will use seeds for winter veggies.

I still have 6 pots to til add soil land compost to. Just started last night night since it got cool and was around the low 100's and next week we'll be in the mid 90s so right time to get it going again after summer!
