Man, this is a good construction night for me. Whenever I bring out multiples I’m usually guaranteed a dud, not tonight.

Trying out the La Maestranza. Perhaps it will age nicely, but it was a boring smoke. I liked it better than the Volstead and new cromag PA, but nothing I'm seeking out to have more IMG_2467.jpeg

So many of these new releases are requiring age to be very smokable I'm finding. I usually age my sticks anyway but still try them when getting them to see what there is to look forward to. Smokes like the old DPG Blue Lancero are good right out of the gate but excellent after a couple years on them. So many of these new releases are damn near unsmokable or just plain boring prior to age. Think too many places are just trying to crank out production at this point.

That DotW was actually enjoyable. Wouldn’t call it great but it’s amazing what 2mo did for that stick. ROTT was pretty bad.

Speaking of aged sticks, have 3 boxes of aged sticks I’m shipping out to my brother for his birthday & as a celebration of him finally getting a squatter out of one of his rentals. The story that went with the eviction was amazing 😂

I'll need to hear that story later this week. New house starts tomorrow.

Rmenergy you are keeping this thread alive man! Appreciated. I Don’t come around too often anymore.
I can tell. This thread is pretty slow as of late. You move over to the new OG?

I was invited to Simply Stogies so have been over there for cigar stuff mostly.

So educate me. What's with all the different cigars? I'd assume by now you have a favorite. Do cigar smokers not settle on a staple and just get the same thing over and over again like beer drinkers do?

Although I have about 30 bottles of different bourbons here so maybe it's like that? Interesting to taste the differences? But I do have staples that I turn to often and always keep on hand (Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare)
