Luckily the contractor I hired has been amazing, glad I didn't have the time to try to DIY this one. I just wanted better insulation and removal of a fireplace to make the room an office/guest roomDid you hire KirikJrslice?
I think someone was on crack when they built this. The windows are Andersen from the 90s, so I'm guessing it was done thenSomeone found a use for the scrap boards they had laying around.
That too, they had various lengths of scrap boards, they didn't have a saw, but they did have a hammer, nails and crack.I think someone was on crack when they built this. The windows are Andersen from the 90s, so I'm guessing it was done then
Honestly, not much, which is insane. There was some sagging but it wasn't terrible. I only used the room as a walk through to the deck. In a decade of owning this house I never used it for much of anything to be honestJesus Christ, how much bounce was in that floor

Simple rehab turned into a money pit. FML
I live in Anderson from the 90s, this is way better than Andersons qualityI think someone was on crack when they built this. The windows are Andersen from the 90s, so I'm guessing it was done then
Lol! Thought you got that off Google, my man. Not sure how that didn't cave the fuck in.Not that I DIY much to be honest but this is a fucking nightmare
Nah man, this is my house. No idea how this didn't fall apart. Luckily this is the only addition to the house and everything else is exposed enough to know it's not crazy framing and cob jobbed together.Lol! Thought you got that off Google, my man. Not sure how that didn't cave the fuck in.
It's mind blowing. I talked to my neighbor and showed him, he's been in his house 70 years, he said that addition was actually a company and not the previous homeowner, he couldnt remember the company name though, he said it was early 90s they built it. IDK how the original homeowner didn't see that and lose his mindSomeone must've been high as kite putting that down. Doesn't make sense even for a novice going in with all those crazy angles.
The contractors are finishing thr refreshing now. They said they used more nails then wood but none of them were even in anything worthwhile.I want to see how many nails were in that subfloor, they most have missed half just trying to find the jigsaw puzzle of a frame.
