Was it on his podcast?
There were three women over the last couple years accusing him of sexual assault and other stuff, but they didn’t go anywhere. His side of the stories seem water tight.
Yeah. Portnoy was saying Tommy Fury was a bum and not a legit boxer. I think that was when he fought that YouTube dude who just fought Tyson.

Joe was saying he wasn't elite - but that he was a legit boxer with legit skills. They were playing clips and Portnoy was just dismissing him as a bum and Rogan kept telling him to shut the fuck up and watch.

I don't think Rogan was actually pissed. Just two dudes bustin each other's balls.

Rivalry week boys. UofL vs UK. The records don't matter. We were favored last year, had the better record, and lost. The past 4-5 years, UK has owned us in the trenches. Both sides of the ball. Saturday is going to be interesting.

The booger eater ran like a rat and let his assistant take the fall for cheating like a little cunt bitch.

TTUN is on notice.

And make no mistake.
It's not revenge Ohio State is after.
It's a reckoning.

Ohio State 48
TTUN 3

Probably. I havent looked at their draft classes, but do those schools lock up the state of California, or do they let teams come in and poach the top tier talent out of the state?
Top teams still go in and grab some for sure but USC used to lock down what they wanted first. That's definitely changed throughout the years.

There is so much fucking high school talent across the state of California. How can USC and UCLA be this bad?
I have had different theories over the years, as a former Cali kid. It is probably a combo of many things (coaching, etc.), but one of my maybe not so obvious reasons is kids in California don’t grow up with strong allegiances to the in state schools. Maybe they used to way back when, but not so much in the era I was there (80s-90s), and I suspect it is still largely the same. They will bandwagon when USC has the odd good season or two, but then fade away when they go into their hibernation phases.

Maybe the guys on here that grew up in different areas can speak on their experiences, but kids in Texas generally grow wanting to play at UT, A&M, or OU. I suspect Florida kids grow up largely wanting to play at Miami, FSU, or Florida (maybe more so in the 90s, they probably more want to go to UGA or Bama now).

Don’t want to derail the conversation, but if South Carolina beats Clemson, I say Shane Beamer is the coach of the year. Maybe Lanning is a better choice. But if I had a vote it would be Beamer.

I'd vote the Vanderbilt or Army head coach over either. Elko has quietly done a better job than beamer.

You still have skilled athletes but there isn't the dedication to things like weight training and 7 on 7 on the west coast. They're not producing linemen on defense or offense. They have to recruit the southeast for bigger athletes and kids with better technique. There are still some there but it's not stayed up with the evolution of high school football you see in what is now SEC area from Texas to the Carolinas.

Can't speak for UCLA since they've always sucked...

But for USC it has been death by a thousand cuts. They had SoCal on lockdown during the PC era, because they had recruiters with local connections, were the hot ticket in the city, and having huge success. But they became a victim of that success, and started taking a lot for granted while outsiders (Oregon, Ohio State, the entire SEC, etc) were able to move in and start poaching talent SC didn't think they needed to recruit because they figured they'd be the default choice.

Then you a have the absolutely fucked NCAA sanctions the program faced which were unprecedented and every team since has gotten kid gloves comparatively, which did what that fat fuck Paul Dee designed them to do, which was destroy the program.

Then you have a series of underachieving coaches + the changing college landscape, and the university being plagued by so many scandals off the field that their status as a golden pipeline to the NFL has lost some of its luster.

Now in the NIL era, the current admin is of two minds on everything, and can't decide if they want to be a powerhouse football school still, or focus on academics since the damage to their reputation in both fields has been extensive as of recent.

NIL-wise, I find it amazing that an LA school can barely compete with schools elsewhere, but I guess the billionaires who went to SC rather have their money go into the film school or other programs than football.

Fair enough and no wrong answers. Lea has done a great job. Elko inherited quite a bit of talent by comparison, but he has done a great job. I hope they pull off the win vs UT.

He would certainly be on the very short list
Looking at 9-3, wins over 3-4 ranked teams, two of the 3 losses being extremely close (LSU/Alabama) and coming off 5-7 season. No one in the pre-season had them at this level

It's gotta be Indiana's coach doesnt it? From total obscurity to 11-1.

Speaking of rivalry. ASU v UofA coming up. Think with a win, the Sun Devils could get in.

Forgot about them. He’s probably a more likely candidate and what a fantastic job he’s done. But I’m an SEC homer more often than not, so I see what the Gamecocks have done as more impressive. Indiana would prolly be 4-8 right now in the SEC. Maybe I’m wrong and they are legit. I’d be happy to eat my words.

I missed him too. You're right, a lot of really good candidates.

Yeah. I'd give the nod to Cignetti.
From doormat to Top 10.

Ohio State might have ended up with a comfortable win last week, but that Indiana team is legit.

Vandy coach runner up.
