Dustin Rhodes announced he has signed a multi year deal with AEW and will finish his career there. Includes other opportunities and responsibilities outside of him wrestling.
Good for him if this is better for his life, but damn if I didn't wanna see a Dustin return at Mania to save Cody...then lead to a heel turn & let them tear the house down at SummerSlam.

He probably didn't want to be Goldust again which is 1000% what would have happened if he returned to WWE. It's not like he's relatively young like Cody, and he doesn't have a story to finish like Cody either.

Getting paid more to work less and not play dress up for the rest of your career sounds like a smart move.

I think he probably got deal for being able to run his wrestling school and some backstage options as a producer long term. He’s certainly been around enough to help the younger talent.

I dunno. Before Cody signed, I was saying it was gonna be 6 months before they had him being Stardust again and look where he's at, now.

Trips doesn't knock it out of the park every time, but his booking has been way more good than bad.

Now if Vince was still around & pulling the strings, I'd agree with you.

Should be Darby, so I'll go with Ricochet.
Should be Shelton, so Okada has this.
Ospreay, Fletcher, and Claudio winners are U.

Toni with an upset catch t get the pin then gets overly excited as the rookie ekes out the win over the veteran.

Toni Storm is the best thing AEW has going & it's not even close.
She really is great at portraying her character. TK even admitted to enabling her by announcing she was debuting on Dynamite rather than returning.

Decided to watch and it’s been a good show.

Ospreay beat King clean

Riccochet and Darby went to a 20 minute draw which eliminated Darby. Darby whispered something to Komander while Komander was making his entrance.

Komander beat Claudio after using brass knuckles that Darby had left him under the ring apron. After the match Mox and crew beat down Komander. Orange came in for the save and ate the metal briefcase for his effort.

Okada beat Benjamin as expected but a good match

Toni got the win over Taya with an inside cradle after taking a beating most of the match. Should have given Toni some mic time after.

Fletcher beat Garcia with that brutal brainbuster suplex onto the top turnbuckle.

Ospreay vs Fletcher and Okada vs Riccochet are the semifinal matches

  • Why the fuck are the semi and finals on the same show?
  • Sasha vs Statlander is a tv match.
  • Match for the ring is historically also a TV match
  • Was there really a build for May vs Rosa? I thought Mina was the feud until Toni Storm is back against May?
  • The main event just looks thrown together.

Overall... I'm sure it will be a great in ring show... but the booking and storylines are subpar even for the most generous fan.

This whole card looks "just thrown together".

Its literally insane to me that AEW could do a fucking 2 year angle with Hangman leading to him beating Kenny and now be completely unable to do a 3 week coherent story.

I live in Orlando... and had zero desire to go to this show.

I mean... thats pretty much all AEW shows since Cody and Punk left.
I didn't really watch AEW until mid-summer 2023. It was good. WWE still had Vince sniffing around and AEW had good in-ring workers and between Punk, and MJF the two best mics in pro wrestling. You also had guys like Ricky Starks showing piles of potential. Then....they fired Punk and it just all fell apart. Last year they did the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre Match" and that marked the beginning of AEW's Dumpster Fire Era. Since then it's just been one bad decision after the next, and each of them worse than the last.

It's like Vince Russo is running wild backstage.

Tony CoKahne backed the wrong horses.

Collision was must watch when Punk ran it.
Cody always had angles that were heavier on story than spotfests.

Instead... Tony backed the Cucamonga Cucks and their friends.

Punk: "Here's what happened"
AEW, I mean, Dave Meltzer: "That's not what happened"
AEW:"Tune in next week to see what really happened"

Footage:*Shows exactly what Pink said happened*

AEW: Profit*

*By profit I mean bleed viewers.
