As always anytime there is a big political shit storm I'll quickly scroll the Reddit thread that inevitably exists on it so I can gauge the temperature of the current mainstream left propaganda machine and surprisingly they are all over this guy's ass about stepping down. He seems to be universally hated and him stepping down was party first country second.

I wouldn't trust anyone's opinion who talks about USA invading/annexing Canada as serious.
Trump is clearly just talking shit, making some jokes, posturing for a better negotiating position as he already confirmed he will renegotiate USMCA which he already renegotiated from NAFTA.
Public statements are put out there for various reasons and they're not always there because they're the truth.
For example Denmark's PM put out a statement saying Greenland isn't for sale.
100% Denmark's admin right now is doing all sorts of prep, valuation, pre negotiations for sale of Greenland. Everything is for sale.
When someone says something isn't for sale it's because they're trying to get a better price.
Likewise USA isn't going to invade Panama but rather will either purchase the Canal back or most likely they are going to work out a deal with Panama.
